Operating Principle of the One Series
The United Electric One Series pressure switch senses gage pressure through a micro-machined piezo-resistive strain gage silicon element bonded to a welded 316L stainless steel diaphragm, wetted with a 0.25 ml silicone oil fill. Process pressure deflects the diaphragm by a maximum of 0.00053 inches, and the resulting strain-gage signal is digitized by an onboard low-power microcontroller that continuously compares the live reading against a user-programmed set point and deadband. Because the trip decision is made electronically rather than through a mechanical belleville spring or bourdon tube, the One Series delivers repeatable switching to within 0.1% of full range span, with overall accuracy of 0.5% of span at room temperature and long-term stability of ±0.25% of range per year.
