Tektronix AFG3022C 2-Channel 25 MHz Arbitrary Function Generator
Description
AFG3022C is the two-channel, 25 MHz member of the Tektronix AFG3000C Series of arbitrary function generators: 1 µHz to 25 MHz sine output, 14-bit arbitrary waveforms up to 128 k points at 250 MS/s, and a 5.6 in. colour display.
Two independent signal sources on one bench
Each channel can generate any of 12 standard waveforms (sine, square, pulse, ramp, triangle, sin(x)/x, exponential rise and decay, Gaussian, Lorentz, haversine, DC and noise) or a user arbitrary waveform. The two channels can output identical signals or entirely different ones, which is useful for simulating a sensor pair, a quadrature encoder or a differential drive signal.
Pulse waveforms have independently adjustable leading and trailing edges, and all models use a time base with only ±1 ppm drift per year. Modulation covers AM, FM, PM, FSK and PWM, with sweep and burst modes for functional test.
Key features as printed in the datasheet
- Pulse width 16 ns to 999.99 s; edge transition 9 ns to 625 s.
- Four nonvolatile arbitrary waveform locations.
- Modulation inputs on both channels and a 10 MHz reference input.
- Remote programming over GPIB, LAN (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX) and USB.
- Selectable user interface and help languages including English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Chinese and Russian.

Choosing within the AFG3000C range
Model numbers encode channels and maximum sine frequency: AFG3021C is one channel at 25 MHz, AFG3022C two channels at 25 MHz, AFG3051C/3052C reach 50 MHz, AFG3101C/3102C 100 MHz, AFG3151C/3152C 150 MHz and AFG3251C/3252C 240 MHz. Select a power plug (A0 to A12, or A99 for none) and a manual language (L0 English to L10 Russian, or L99 none), and optionally calibration services C3 or C5 with data reports D1, D3 or D5.
Use notes
Set the load impedance in the menu to match your circuit (50 Ω, 1 Ω to 10 kΩ or High Z) so the displayed amplitude is correct. The outputs withstand permanent shorts but are not protected against external voltages; Tektronix lists fuse adapter 013-0345-xx for that purpose. Lock to a 10 MHz external reference when several instruments must stay in step, or add noise by activating internal noise add, which reduces the output signal amplitude to 50 percent.
Training, repair and test-bench uses
Technical colleges and training centres use a two-channel function generator to teach filters, amplifiers and communication basics. Service benches use it to inject test signals into amplifiers, transmitters and PLC analog inputs, while production staff use burst and sweep for functional test. The datasheet lists electronic test and design, sensor simulation, functional test and education as the intended applications; it gives no ingress or hazardous-area rating, so it is a clean-room bench instrument.
Selection and installation notes
Test and measurement instruments are selected from the accuracy, the range and the interfaces the work needs. Allow the warm-up time, use leads and probes rated for the voltage and category of the circuit, keep the inputs inside the stated limits and keep the calibration current according to your quality system. Record the settings used for any test that must be repeated later.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
