Brand:

Rigol DSA815-TG 1.5 GHz Tracking Generator Spectrum Analyzer

Description

A 1.5 GHz spectrum analyzer with a built-in tracking generator

The Rigol DSA815-TG is the DSA815 spectrum analyzer with the tracking generator (TG) installed at the factory. It covers 9 kHz to 1.5 GHz with an all-digital IF, resolution bandwidths down to 10 Hz and a measurement range from the displayed noise level to +20 dBm, shown on an 8 inch WVGA display.

The tracking generator outputs a swept signal from 100 kHz to 1.5 GHz that follows the analyzer, so you can measure filters, cables, amplifiers and antennas for gain, loss and return behaviour without a separate source. Browse more instruments in Portable Test & Measurement.

Choosing a DSA800 code

The datasheet lists DSA815, DSA832, DSA875 and DSA832E (1.5, 3.2, 7.5 and 3.2 GHz), each also with a factory-installed tracking generator (-TG suffix). Pick the -TG version if you need transmission measurements; the signal seamless capture option (SSC-DSA) is listed only for the DSA815.

Operating notes

Specifications are valid when the instrument is within its calibration period, has been stored at least two hours at 0 to 50 degC and has warmed up for 40 minutes. Do not exceed +20 dBm continuous RF power; the protection switch operates above +25 dBm at 10 MHz and higher when the preamp is off. Use attenuators such as the 30 dB, 100 W ATT03301H for high-power sources.

Typical uses

RF and EMC pre-checks, wireless and telecom site work, cable and filter testing, antenna return loss with a VSWR bridge, and electronics education. The EMI-DSA800 kit adds an EMI filter and quasi-peak detector for pre-compliance tests; it is not a substitute for accredited compliance testing.

Options and accessories

Listed items: EMI-DSA800, AMK-DSA800 advanced measurement kit, VSWR-DSA800, Ultra Spectrum PC software, S1210 and S1220 software, VB1032, VB1040 and VB1080 VSWR bridges, NFP-3 near-field probe, RF cable, adaptor and attenuator kits, RM-DSA800 rack kit and BAG-G1 carrying bag.

Selection and installation notes

Test and measurement instruments are selected from the accuracy, the range and the interfaces the work needs. Allow the warm-up time, use cables and attenuators rated for the signal level, keep the inputs inside the stated limits and keep the calibration current according to your quality system. Record the settings used for any test that must be repeated later.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information
