TDK B86305L0004R000 3-Phase Line Reactor 4 A, 10 mH for Drives
Description
The smallest line reactor in a 4 A to 900 A series
The TDK B86305L0004R000 is a three-phase line reactor for converters, rated 4 A at 40 C on 520 V AC with an inductance of 10 mH per phase. Placed in the supply lead of a frequency converter it limits the rate of rise of the input current and softens the effect of network disturbances on the rectifier, so it is a common companion for small drives with no built-in DC-link choke. This is the first step of the B86305L ladder, which continues through 7, 10, 11, 16, 21, 30, 35, 46, 50, 60, 75, 100, 156, 230, 390, 600, 800 and 900 A.
It is a naturally cooled component weighing 1.5 kg, with IP20 protection and finger-safe terminals for 4 mm2 cable, and the label visible on the photograph repeats the key data: 4 A, 10 mH, 50/60 Hz and 1.5 kg.

Choosing a line reactor for a converter
The voltage drop column is useful for sizing: every step has about 4 to 5 % relative voltage drop at its rated current, which is why the series spans a very wide inductance range. For the 4 A step the figure is 5.4 %, the highest value in the table (shared with the 10 A step); its winding resistance is 335 mOhm. If your drive is rated close to 4 A input current, confirm the drive manufacturer’s recommended line reactor value; otherwise select by current at the supply side and keep a margin because the datasheet is written for rated current at 40 C.
- Between 4 A and 21 A the series uses IP20 finger-safe terminals; from 75 A it uses busbars.
- The neighbouring 7 A (4.2 mH) and 10 A (4.0 mH) types have almost the same footprint class but larger cores.
- The reactor tolerates 3 x IR for under 3 seconds in a 300 s window, which covers short inrush events but not sustained overload.
Neighbouring ratings in the same series
If the drive input current is slightly above 4 A, the next codes in the datasheet are listed below with their key values; all use the same 520 V AC rating and 40 C reference.
| Ordering code | IR (A) | LR (mH) | vk (%) | Weight (kg) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| B86305L0004R000 | 4 | 10.0 | 5.4 | 1.5 |
| B86305L0007R000 | 7 | 4.2 | 4.0 | 2.1 |
| B86305L0010R000 | 10 | 4.0 | 5.4 | 2.6 |
| B86305L0016R000 | 16 | 2.0 | 4.4 | 3.0 |
Installation notes
Natural cooling means the reactor needs free air around it, and TDK warns in its related cautions that components can become very hot and stay hot after switch-off. Mount on the supplied fixing holes only, do not use the reactor as a mechanical support, and keep the installation to qualified personnel. The dimension drawing table gives hole spacing for the fixing slots (6 x 9 mm).
Use in GCC plants
Small drives on instrumentation skids, chilled-water pumps, fan banks in ventilation plants and conveyor motors benefit from line reactors where the supply is shared with harmonic-producing loads. The IP20 rating means the reactor goes inside the panel, so check the cabinet temperature in hot outdoor enclosures. Related line and output filters are in the electrical and power category.
Selection and installation notes
An EMC filter or reactor is selected from the rated current at the actual ambient temperature, the supply voltage and the drive or load it serves. Fit it as close as possible to the drive input, keep the cable between filter and drive short, bond the housing to the panel back plate with a clean metal contact, separate input and output cables, and check the leakage current against the protective earth requirements of the installation.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
