TDK B84143G0066R405 66 A LCL Filter for Active Infeed Converters
Description
A ready-built LCL grid filter for regenerative drives
The TDK B84143G0066R405 is a complete LCL filter rated 66 A at 50 C on a 300/520 V AC network. An LCL filter combines a line-side inductor, a capacitor group with damping resistors and a converter-side inductor, so it attenuates the switching ripple of an active infeed converter (AIC) before it reaches the grid. TDK describes it as improving power quality for active infeed converters, with high attenuation of the pulse frequency to the grid side and integrated damping resistors that suppress current oscillation.
The 66 A step is supplied as a single complete filter on an open frame, so unlike the 200 A and 400 A codes (which are split into capacitor module, line reactor and AIC reactor) it needs no assembly of components. It is rated with 2.5 to 35 mm2 terminals and weighs about 43 kg.

How the series is organised
The datasheet lists four ordering codes. B84143G0016R405 (16 A) and B84143G0066R405 (66 A) are complete filters; B84143G0200R405 (200 A) is a capacitor module including line reactor plus a separate AIC reactor; and B84143G0400S405 (400 A) comes as capacitor module, line reactor and AIC reactor. Terminals are finger-safe at 16 A and 66 A, and busbars for the reactors at 200 A and 400 A. A footnote warns that typical application values such as pulse frequency, motor frequency, cable length and number of axes must be discussed with TDK if your design deviates.
- Match the filter to the converter rated current and the line pulse frequency range of 7 to 16 kHz.
- Check the sum of motor cable lengths against the 150 m limit and the axis count of 6 or fewer.
- Order the B84143Q*R405 cover if IP20 touch protection is required on a 16 to 200 A type.
Installation and safety notes
At 43 kg, plan the mounting plate and handling. TDK’s warnings apply: only qualified persons may install the filter; components store charge and can leave dangerous voltage at the terminals for more than five minutes; the protective earth connection is made first and removed last; and the components can become very hot in operation. The product must be protected against exceeding its rated current and must not carry mechanical loads. For higher ambient temperature than 50 C refer to the current derating details in the TDK data book.
GCC applications
LCL filters accompany active infeed converters used in regenerative drives: lifts and cranes in construction and port work, machine tools, traction systems and renewable-energy interfaces. Because the filter is open frame and runs on natural convection, confirm cabinet cooling in hot rooms. See the electrical and power category for line reactors and EMC filters that complete a drive panel.
Selection and installation notes
An EMC filter or reactor is selected from the rated current at the actual ambient temperature, the supply voltage and the drive or load it serves. Fit it as close as possible to the drive input, keep the cable between filter and drive short, bond the housing to the panel back plate with a clean metal contact, separate input and output cables, and check the leakage current against the protective earth requirements of the installation.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

About brand
TDK Electronics, formerly EPCOS, is a German maker of electronic components headquartered in Munich and owned by Japan's TDK Corporation. EPCOS AG was created in 1999 from Siemens Matsushita Components, a 1989 joint venture of Siemens and Matsushita, and TDK acquired the company fully in October 2009. The EPCOS name remains on many power capacitors, filters and inductors.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list selected TDK Electronics (EPCOS) items with the official data sheet attached to every product page, for panel builders and power quality projects in Oman and the GCC.
