Selecting the right variant
It serves as a plant or substation core switch where routing, redundancy and 10G uplinks to other cores are needed.
On the practical side, mounting is listed as rack mounting; the stated MTBF is 604,723 hrs; the warranty period is 5 years. Treat the MTBF as a manufacturer prediction under its stated method, not a guarantee for your site.
What to confirm before ordering: the port allocation (copper vs SFP), the SFP modules and the HV power inputs. Our team in Muscat works from the exact code on your enquiry, as an independent supplier.
Related models in the ICS-G7826A-20GSFP-2XG-HV-HV-T family
Moxa groups the ICS-G7826A-20GSFP-2XG-HV-HV-T with 2 related order codes under one family: ICS-G7826A-20GSFP-2XG-HV-HV-T, ICS-G7826A-2XG-HV-HV-T, ICS-G7826A-8GSFP-2XG-HV-HV-T. Suffixes such as -T generally mark wide-temperature versions and fiber suffixes (M, S, MM, SS with SC or ST) mark the connector and fiber type, but the order code printed on the datasheet governs.

About brand
Moxa is the Taiwanese maker of industrial networking equipment: Ethernet switches, serial device servers, protocol gateways, media converters, secure routers and remote I/O. It was founded in Taiwan in 1987 and started with serial communication products before moving into industrial Ethernet. It is headquartered in Taipei.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Moxa switches, serial servers, gateways and converters, and supply them to control system integrators, utilities, oil and gas and building automation projects in Oman and the GCC by exact model.

The choice between switch types follows the network. An unmanaged switch simply forwards traffic and suits a small, isolated panel. A managed switch adds redundancy protocols (Moxa's Turbo Ring recovers a broken ring in milliseconds), VLANs to separate traffic, port mirroring and alarms, which a SCADA or DCS network needs. The suffix on a Moxa model also matters: "-T" means a wide operating temperature range (typically -40 to 75 °C), which is the safe choice for outdoor cabinets in the Gulf summer. "-MM-SC" or "-S-SC" means multi-mode or single-mode fibre with SC connectors.
Where Moxa products are used
In Oman and the GCC, Moxa equipment connects RTUs, PLCs, meters and protection relays in oil and gas fields, electrical substations, water and wastewater SCADA, transport, and building and energy management systems.
Ordering Moxa products: what we need
Send the complete model including all suffixes (for example EDS-508A-MM-SC-T), the quantity, and for fibre models the fibre type and distance. For gateways, tell us which two protocols need to be linked.

Frequently Asked Questions
Moxa lists it as: Layer 3 full Gigabit managed Ethernet switch with 20 100/1000BaseSFP slots, 4 10/100/1000BaseT(X) or 100/1000BaseSFP slot combo ports, 2 10GbE SFP+ slots, 2 isolated power supplies (85 to 264 VAC), -40 to 75°C operating temperature. A Layer 3 full Gigabit rackmount managed switch with 20 gigabit SFP slots, four copper/SFP combo ports and two 10GbE SFP+ slots, fed by two isolated 85 to 264 VAC supplies and rated -40 to 75 degrees C.
The Moxa specification gives an input voltage of 100 to 240 VAC; Redundant dual inputs. Check the terminal arrangement and, where relevant, the redundant-input wiring against your panel supply before ordering.
The listed operating temperature is -40 to 75°C (-40 to 167°F). Wide-temperature versions carry a -T suffix in Moxa's order codes where the series offers them, and they are separate order codes.
It is a managed switch, so VLANs, redundancy and security are set through its web, console or SNMP interfaces.
