Brand:

Greenheck CUBE Belt Drive Centrifugal Roof Upblast Exhaust Fan

Description

A spun aluminum upblast fan with the widest duty range in its series

The Greenheck CUBE is the belt-driven centrifugal upblast powered roof ventilator in the CUE, CUBE and USGF catalogue. The CUE is direct drive and tops out at 14,700 cfm and 3 in. wg; the USGF is a spun steel heavy-grease fan at 6,800 cfm and 3.25 in. wg; the CUBE reaches 30,000 cfm and 5 in. wg. All discharge air directly away from the mounting surface, either upward from a roof or sideways through a wall.

The catalogue lists general clean air, restaurant grease, smoke control, light contaminants, seismic and high wind or hurricane duties. Fan sizes 060 to 240 carry a redesigned construction with a removable power pack, toolless motor compartment entry and a lower hoodband.

Features printed in the catalogue

  • Backward-inclined, non-overloading wheel with cones matched to the venturi; statically and dynamically balanced.
  • Cooling fins on the wheel pull outside air through a breather tube into the motor compartment, which Greenheck calls the most advanced motor cooling in its class.
  • Belts, pulleys and keys oversized to 150 percent of driven horsepower; static-free, oil-resistant belts; bearings with L10 life above 100,000 hours.
  • One-piece aluminum windband continuously welded to the curb cap on sizes 240 and smaller for leakproof construction, with a drain or grease trough.
  • Power pack of wheel, motor and support pan makes motor service about 50 percent faster; toolless hood entry on sizes 240 and smaller.
  • Hinged curb base with cables on sizes 300 to 480; external lifting points on sizes 240 and smaller; tie-down points on sizes 300 and larger.

Restaurant grease CUBE sizes 099 and up with Supplement SC; grease trap, grease pan kit, clean-out port, heat baffle, non-stick aluminum wheel
Emergency smoke CUBE only; half the weight of traditional smoke fans and less than half their height
Seismic and high wind Certified CUE and CUBE sizes; see the HCAI and Miami-Dade listings

Selecting and ordering

Select from the Greenheck performance catalogue or selection software by airflow and static pressure, then choose size, motor, disconnect and certification. State whether the unit is roof or sidewall mounted, because sidewall units use a wall bracket or curb and may need a grease pan kit and wall grille. For heavy grease at high temperatures consider the USGF, which handles 400 F (204 C) airstreams continuously, and check which CUBE sizes are excluded from smoke control before specifying that option.

Installation and accessories

  • Roof curbs (vented, flanged, pitched, sound-absorbing), curb extensions, vented curb extensions for the 40 in. NFPA discharge height on an 8 in. curb, adapters and reducers, foam or high-temperature curb seals.
  • Hinged curb cap, windband extension, hood hasps, stainless birdscreen, gravity or motorized dampers.
  • NEMA disconnects, speed controllers for direct drive, motor starters, and coatings from Permatector to Macropoxy with UV topcoat for marine or chemical duty.
  • See our HVAC and combustion category for related ventilation products.

What to confirm before ordering

Confirm the application (clean air, grease, smoke control, seismic or high wind), the size, whether the fan is roof or wall mounted, and any option that changes the construction such as the clean-out port, hinged base or non-stick wheel. Check the list of sizes excluded from smoke control.

Information to send with an RFQ for the Greenheck CUBE Belt Drive Centrifugal Roof Upblast Exhaust Fan

Fans are selected on the duty point, not on the model name. For the Greenheck CUBE Belt Drive Centrifugal Roof Upblast Exhaust Fan, give the required airflow, the static pressure the fan must overcome, the air temperature and density, and whether the fan supplies or exhausts air. Mention the motor supply voltage, phase and frequency; 415 V / 3 ph / 50 Hz is common on GCC sites.

  • Installation position and the roof curb, wall opening or duct connection available.
  • Accessories: dampers, guards, speed control or variable frequency drive, and vibration isolation.
  • Sound limits for nearby offices or residential areas.
  • Ambient conditions: high temperature, dust, sand or corrosive air near the coast.

With a duty point and these details, the fan size, wheel and motor can be confirmed from the manufacturer’s selection data before a quotation is issued.
