65197 is the Vortice AIR DOOR AD1500, a 1,500 mm ambient-temperature (unheated) air curtain with two speeds, an aluminium front panel and an infrared remote control. It moves 2,000 m3/h at the first speed and 2,500 m3/h at the second speed, at a maximum 230 W.

An unheated air curtain that separates cooled and hot zones at a doorway

An air curtain blows a sheet of air across an opening so that two zones at different temperatures are separated without closing the door, and people and goods pass freely. The booklet states that AIR DOOR appliances are designed for industrial use where climatic separation between departments is needed (warehouses and production sites), in offices, hospitals and laboratories, and in catering and retail premises. This neutral version circulates air at ambient temperature, which is the relevant choice for air-conditioned entrances in hot climates.

The front panel is satin-finished silver aluminium with a nine-section polished aluminium grille; the rear is pressed black steel that serves as the frame for all internal components, with black ABS end caps. Two tangential fans in SAN resin, ultrasonically welded, force air through a longitudinal vent in the underside, and the air stream is oriented with adjustable vanes.

Selection and ordering guide

Choose width to match the opening: the AD900, AD1500 and AD2000 are the unheated standard versions; Vortice also lists heated AIR DOOR H versions at 1,200-2,200 m3/h with 6.2-10.7 kW heating power (a different use case). For a 1.5 m door in a shop, store or cold room, the AD1500 gives 2,000-2,500 m3/h.

The booklet advises two or more units in parallel when the access area is larger than the appliance, leaving a 20-40 mm gap between them. Use only door sensors compatible with the product; they are not supplied.

Installation and operation notes

The booklet requires that the appliance be installed at least 2.3 m above the floor, in a sheltered place so it cannot oscillate, always inside the room, with no gap between the appliance and the wall. Do not install it where it could contact water, vapours, explosive gases or corrosive substances, and not in a potentially explosive environment.

A multi-pole switch with at least 3 mm contact opening is required and installation must be by a qualified electrician. Mounting is on a plate fixed to concrete (bolts and cement), wood (screws) or above a false ceiling; the booklet shows each method.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

Entrances to air-conditioned shops, supermarkets, restaurants, clinics, cold stores, loading bays and warehouse doors where cooled air must stay inside during frequent opening.

In Gulf climates the saving is on cooling load; the unit is for interior mounting and not for exposure to dust storms, water jets or vapours, which the booklet excludes.

Sizing and maintenance notes

Choose an air curtain at least as wide as the door opening, and mount it as close to the top of the opening as possible, so the air stream covers the full width. Clean the intake grille regularly in dusty locations.
