Soler & Palau CVHT-12/12 F400-120 Smoke Extract Cabinet Fan
Description
A belt-driven cabinet fan certified F400-120 for smoke extraction
The Soler & Palau CVHT-12/12 is a double-inlet, forward-curved centrifugal fan in a galvanised steel cabinet with the belt drive kept outside the air stream. The CVHT range is described in the datasheet as designed for smoke extraction in fire conditions and certified F400-120 (CE marked), officially approved to EN12101-3 under certificate number 0370-CPD-0359, and suitable for continuous operation.
The 12/12 size handles 1,500 to 12,950 m3/h depending on the motor and pulley selection, so the fan is chosen from the performance curve and motor power rather than from a single fixed airflow. It is a typical basement car park and plant-room smoke extract box, and the same enclosure can carry day-to-day ventilation with a two-speed motor.
Datasheet features
- Certified F400-120 per the S&P datasheet, with CE marking and approval to EN12101-3 (the 400 degC for 120 minutes meaning is the general EN 12101-3 class, not spelled out in the sheet).
- Double inlet forward-curved centrifugal impeller; motor mounted inside the cabinet on a special support giving optimal belt tension.
- Automatically tensioned, maintenance-free belt system that S&P presents as its own proprietary design, ensuring constant belt tension.
- Aluminium corners for robustness and fixing points on the corners for floor or ceiling installation.
- Supplied as horizontal discharge (H) or vertical discharge (V), with motor, pulley and belt on the right when viewed from the discharge end; left-hand (TI) on request.

Sound power spectrum: subtract the catalogue correction values from the product performance value. For the 12/12 these are 16, 14, 11, 10, 4, 5, 15, 21 and 27 dB(A) at 63, 125, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000 and 16000 Hz.
Choosing motor and discharge
Order the cabinet with the motor power that matches your duty point. Between 0.37 and 3 kW four-pole motors are listed in the series table (0.37, 0.55, 0.75, 1.1, 1.5, 2.2 and 3 kW); two-speed pairs for smoke-plus-comfort duty include 1.1/0.18 kW (4/8 poles) and 2.4/0.75 kW (4/6 poles). Note that the datasheet says two-speed motor powers can vary slightly with the motor manufacturer.
Specify H for horizontal discharge or V for vertical, and tell the supplier if the motor and belt must be on the left side (TI version).
Installation notes
Use the corner fixing points on a floor or slab and fit the PAVZ-80 SH anti-vibration mounts, which the catalogue lists for this size (maximum load 80 kg per mount). Connect rectangular ducting through the ACOP RECT F400 12/12 flexible connectors on the inlet (502 mm) and discharge (401 x 346 mm).
For outdoor horizontal-discharge fans the CHTI-12/12 pitched roof cover is listed, with outer dimensions 963 x 949 mm. Wire guards CVD-12 and CVA-12 cover the discharge and inlet.
Ordering checklist for a smoke-extract fan
Give the supplier: model CVHT-12/12, H or V discharge, left or right motor side, motor power and voltage, whether a two-speed 4/6 or 4/8 pole motor is wanted for dual duty, the design duty point in m3/h and Pa, and any F400 accessories (the connector family is literally named ACOP RECT F400). Ask for the performance curve for the exact motor and pulley, because the catalogue prints ranges, not a single point.
The single-phase variant CVHB, up to 2.2 kW at 230 V, is only mentioned as available on request; confirm it separately, because certification statements in the datasheet are made for the CVHT range as printed.
Where it is specified
Basement and car-park smoke extract are the uses implied by the F400-120 rating and the catalogue application tags for car parks and continuous operation. Check the project fire strategy and the controls; the fan data alone does not define a system. See other HVAC equipment.
Installation and selection notes
For smoke extraction the fan must be selected, installed and controlled as a system with the fire strategy of the building. Confirm the required temperature and time class, the motor and pulley combination for the duty point, the power supply and cabling suited to the fire scenario, and the controls provided by the project. Keep the belt guard fitted and check belt tension on the maintenance schedule.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the supply voltage and phase, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and any accessories such as controllers, silencers, dampers or flexible connectors, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification before a purchase is confirmed. Airflow, pressure, sound and motor values are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
