Brand:

Soler & Palau TD-2000/315N 3V Mixed Flow Duct Fan 315 mm

Description

The biggest plastic-cased TD-MIXVENT: 1840 m3/h through a 315 mm duct

At the top of the plastic TD range, the Soler & Palau TD-2000/315N 3V connects to 315 mm circular ducting and reaches 1840 m3/h at 2640 rpm while drawing 273 W. It is the model to look at when a branch serves a whole floor wing, a plant room or a workshop bay and the smaller 150 to 250 mm sizes run out of airflow, but the building still has only a single-phase supply and a ceiling void rather than a plant deck.

Like the rest of the series it is a mixed flow design in a low-profile casing, made of reinforced plastic with a motor and impeller assembly that can be withdrawn without taking the ducts apart. The N in the model code is part of the printed designation; quote it exactly, since the catalogue also lists a TD-2000/315 SILENT with different construction.

Features that matter on a larger duct fan

  • Motor: class B, ball bearings, safety thermal overload protection, IP44; direct 2 or 3 speed connection and suitable for voltage speed control.
  • Supply: single phase 230 V, 50/60 Hz for the 500 to 2000 range.
  • Casing and impeller: polypropylene casing and ABS impeller for this size; protection class II.
  • Support bracket allows motor and impeller to be fitted or removed without dismantling adjacent ducting.
  • Wider temperature window than the small sizes: -20 to +60 degC.

Choosing this size

The speed spread on this model is narrow: the low-speed point still gives 1620 m3/h, about 88 percent of the maximum (derived), and sound pressure moves by only 2 dB(A). That means speed control here is a fine trim, not a way to halve the airflow. If your design airflow is much lower, a TD-1300/250N or a smaller body is the better pick.

Check the duct system pressure against the performance curves in the catalogue, which follow ISO 5801 and AMCA 210-99 and show static pressure against airflow for each speed. The catalogue also prints specific fan power curves in W per m3/s, useful when you must report fan efficiency.

Installation notes

The catalogue tells the installer to compare the data plate voltage, power and frequency with the supply before commissioning. The sequence in the series pages is: fix the support bracket, place the impeller and motor assembly, wire, then connect the ducts. The unit can be put anywhere in the duct run.

Dimension letters G and H in the table above, and the 7 mm hole size K, are the fixing points for the support bracket; take the drawing from the catalogue before drilling.

Typical duties and limits

Typical uses are extract or supply boosting in commercial fit-outs, back-of-house kitchens that need a duct booster, workshops and warehouses with ceiling-level ductwork. The unit is an air mover for clean air in the range of -20 to +60 degC; the datasheet carries no ATEX, smoke-extract or washdown rating for this code, so consider the other HVAC fans for those duties.

Accessories and related codes

The datasheet lists electrical accessories only: switches COM-3 and INTER 4P and controllers RMB-1,5 and REB-2,5 for this row. The TD-2000/315 SILENT and the steel-cased TD-4000 and TD-6000 are different models in the same family catalogue and are not substitutes without a duty check.

Installation and selection notes

Select the TD-2000/315N from the fan curve at the real system pressure, not from the maximum airflow, because duct length, bends and grilles reduce delivery. Mount it so the motor and impeller assembly can be withdrawn for cleaning, support it independently of the duct and use flexible connectors where vibration must not travel along the ductwork. Wire it to a single-phase supply through a speed controller or switch as specified for this series.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the supply voltage and phase, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and any accessories such as controllers, silencers, dampers or flexible connectors, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification before a purchase is confirmed. Airflow, pressure, sound and motor values are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
