Brand:

Greenheck RSQ Mixed Flow Hooded Rooftop Supply and Exhaust Fan

Description

One rooftop fan platform for either supply or exhaust

The Greenheck RSQ is a direct drive, mixed flow, hooded rooftop fan sold as a supply unit or an exhaust unit from the same housing, which gives a consistent look on the roof deck. Its mixed flow wheel improves airflow and efficiency while reducing sound and footprint. The catalogue lists 12 sizes (7 to 33), up to 27,100 cfm in supply applications and 25,200 cfm in exhaust, with up to 3 in. wg of static pressure.

Supply configurations can be fitted with 1 in. washable aluminum filters or just a birdscreen; exhaust configurations use birdscreen only. Greenheck states that supply or exhaust must be chosen when ordering, because the configuration cannot be changed in the field. Spark B and C resistance is offered.

Features printed in the catalogue

  • Two removable access panels, one on each side, give quick access to every interior component.
  • Hoods in galvanized steel, painted steel or aluminum are arched and precision roll-formed with an interlocking rib design (four material thicknesses) and drainage channels; they ship knocked down for field assembly.
  • Totally enclosed motors need no extra motor cover; Vari-Green EC motors are offered up to 10 hp.
  • NEMA-3R disconnect switch mounted and wired as standard; lifting lugs for rigging.
  • Quick-release birdscreen sections of 1/2 in. galvanized mesh allow removal without taking off the hood.

Weights are for standard galvanized construction with the largest cataloged totally enclosed EC motor. For size 12, for example, the recommended duct and damper size is 18-1/4 in. square and the recommended roof opening 22-3/4 in. square (derived from columns D and E).

Choosing the configuration

Three configurations exist: exhaust with birdscreen, supply with birdscreen (both standard) and supply with filters (optional). The performance curves in the catalogue are for supply with filters, so alternative configurations will differ. Certified performance is for installation type B (free inlet, ducted outlet) and excludes accessories. Aluminum hoods save weight on roof decks with low load capacity, and 1/2 in. fiberglass hood insulation reduces condensation and sound.

Installation notes and accessories

  • Roof curbs (flanged, pitched, sound-absorbing; 1 in., 2 in. or no insulation), curb extensions, adapters and reducers for retrofits, and duct adapters.
  • Gravity or motorized backdraft dampers (WD-330) and volume control dampers (VCD), shipped separately.
  • Coatings including Hi-Pro Polyester, and Vari-Green controls.
  • The 8 in. minimum curb height is recommended; see our HVAC and combustion category for related ventilation items.

What to confirm before ordering

Confirm supply or exhaust before ordering, because it cannot be changed later, plus the filter requirement, hood material, roof curb height and the motor option. The wind ratings differ between sizes 7 to 24 and sizes 27 to 33, so state the roof wind zone.

Information to send with an RFQ for the Greenheck RSQ Mixed Flow Hooded Rooftop Supply and Exhaust Fan

Fans are selected on the duty point, not on the model name. For the Greenheck RSQ Mixed Flow Hooded Rooftop Supply and Exhaust Fan, give the required airflow, the static pressure the fan must overcome, the air temperature and density, and whether the fan supplies or exhausts air. Mention the motor supply voltage, phase and frequency; 415 V / 3 ph / 50 Hz is common on GCC sites.

  • Installation position and the roof curb, wall opening or duct connection available.
  • Accessories: dampers, guards, speed control or variable frequency drive, and vibration isolation.
  • Sound limits for nearby offices or residential areas.
  • Ambient conditions: high temperature, dust, sand or corrosive air near the coast.

With a duty point and these details, the fan size, wheel and motor can be confirmed from the manufacturer’s selection data before a quotation is issued.

Each quotation for the Greenheck RSQ Mixed Flow Hooded Rooftop Supply and Exhaust Fan states the exact manufacturer part number, the documents that will accompany the shipment, the expected lead time from the factory and the delivery terms to your site. If the part number on an existing nameplate is incomplete or worn, send a clear photograph of the label and of the installed unit, and the correct ordering code can be confirmed with the manufacturer before the offer is issued.
