17167 is the Vortice LINEO 200 ES, an energy-saving in-line mixed flow extractor fan for 200 mm ducts. It combines a fire-resistant plastic casing, a thermally protected brushless EC motor with a centrifugal impeller and a speed that can be set from 0 to 10 V, delivering up to 1,100 m3/h at 342 Pa from only 90 W at full speed.

A 200 mm EC in-line fan for quiet, controllable duct extraction

The LINEO range is built for ducted extraction where a straight-through, in-line fan is easier to install than a wall or roof unit. In the 200 mm size the ES (energy saving) version uses an EC motor, so airflow can be trimmed to the real demand instead of being throttled. The technical data sheet lists five speed points, from 2 V (310 m3/h, 6.3 W) to 10 V (1,100 m3/h, 90 W), which makes the power saving at part load easy to read directly.

The casing is moulded in E2 class fire-resistant resin in the zones around the motor and electrics, and the unit is rated IPX5 when installed in a duct. A thermal fuse is built in as an over-temperature safety device. The booklet describes it as an in-line centrifugal extractor fan for residential and commercial properties.

Selection and ordering guide

LINEO 200 ES is the point in the range where airflow passes 1,000 m3/h on a 200 mm duct. The 150 ES (590 m3/h) and 160 ES (630 m3/h) suit smaller branches, the 250 ES (1,475 m3/h) and 315 ES (2,625 m3/h) serve main runs. Quiet and Q versions exist for noise-critical rooms: LINEO 200 QUIET ES carries the same airflow class in a sound-proof casing, but at 8.6 kg against 4.6 kg here.

Because the fan is EC-controlled, size to the duty point you need: about 700 m3/h at 141 Pa takes only 25.7 W at the 6 V step according to the data sheet. Check duct pressure loss before ordering.

Installation and operation notes

The booklet requires installation by a qualified electrician, an omnipolar switch with at least 3 mm contact opening, and both inlet and outlet ports connected to duct. The fan must discharge into a single duct dedicated to it, and the room needs adequate replacement air. Maximum operating ambient temperature is 50 C.

Commissioning uses dip-switches: SW1 selects the model (for LINEO 200 ES the booklet shows Int.1 OFF, Int.2 ON, Int.3 OFF, Int.4 ON, set at the factory) and SW2 selects two-speed or adjustable-speed mode. Trickle (V1) and boost (V2) speeds can be trimmed with a potentiometer, and factory values restored by a documented reset. Control accessories must be installed in rooms not above 25 C.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

Ducted extraction for kitchens, washrooms, plant rooms, offices, shops and hotel back-of-house areas where the duct run is short and noise matters. In Gulf buildings with long duty hours the EC speed control reduces energy use during low-occupancy periods.

The booklet excludes use with flammable vapours and exposure to rain or sun.
