Danfoss 132L1988 FC 280 Midi Drive 11 kW PROFINET IP20
Description
FC 280 11 kW in the K4 frame: the top of the Midi Drive power range in this lane
The 132L1988 is the 11 kW (15 HP) FC 280 with the same PROFINET and safety-over-communication configuration as its 1.5 kW sibling. At 317.5 x 133 x 245 mm and 8.2 kg it is larger, with a continuous current of 23 A, an intermittent current of 34.5 A and apparent power of 15.9 kVA.
The power loss is 289.5 W at high overload, which is more than five times the loss of the K1 unit. In a panel with several drives this heat adds up quickly, so calculate the cabinet cooling before you decide on the layout.

Applications at 11 kW
This size covers compressors, fans and pumps in small plants, conveyor drives, mixers and textile or packaging machines. Because it has a brake chopper, an external resistor can absorb the energy of a fast stop. The resistor is a separate purchase and must be rated for the duty cycle.
The PROFINET control card and the safety function over the network are included, so the drive connects with one cable to the PLC network. The setup is by a PC tool, the network or an external panel, because the display is not fitted in this code.
Checks before you order
First check the motor: 11 kW at 400 V is about 23 A continuous according to the store. Next the supply: the filter is specified as C1 on 200 V and C2 on 400 V supplies, so a site with strict emission limits may need an external filter. Last, the safety concept: the SFS1 version relies on safety communication, so the PLC must support it.
A different code number is required for a version without PROFINET, with a display or with another RFI choice.
Because the K4 frame dissipates about 290 W, leave the clearances above and below the unit as described by Danfoss and avoid placing heat-sensitive parts above it. For machines that ship abroad, record the type code and software version in the commissioning report, because service staff will need them for a quick parts match. Send us your motor list if you need several sizes quoted together.
If 132L1988 is needed for an urgent repair, say so in your first message and name the machine that is stopped. We will check what can be confirmed quickly, although delivery times are never promised until the supplier has answered the enquiry in writing.
Ordering notes
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat and can quote 132L1988 on request. The attached Danfoss FC 280 fact sheet gives an overview of the range; related drives are under AC drives.

About brand
Danfoss is the Danish engineering group that makes refrigeration and air-conditioning controls, heating components, variable speed drives and mobile hydraulics. Mads Clausen founded it on 1 September 1933 at his parents' farm in Nordborg on the island of Als, after making his first refrigeration expansion valve in 1932. Nordborg is still the group's headquarters, and Danfoss remains controlled by the Clausen family through the Bitten & Mads Clausen Foundation.
Danfoss company profile
| Founded | 1 September 1933, Nordborg, Denmark, by Mads Clausen (1905–1966) |
|---|---|
| First product | Thermostatic expansion valve for refrigeration |
| Headquarters | Nordborg, Denmark |
| Ownership | Private; majority controlled by the Bitten & Mads Clausen Foundation and the Clausen family |
| Size | About 42,000 employees (2023) |
| Business segments | Danfoss Climate Solutions (refrigeration, air conditioning and heating), Danfoss Drives (VLT and VACON frequency converters, soft starters), Danfoss Power Solutions (mobile and industrial hydraulics) |
| Brands in the group | VLT, VACON, Eaton Hydraulics (bought 2021), Ikusi radio remote controls |
Milestones
- 1932–1933: First expansion valve; the company is founded in Nordborg.
- 1939: 26 employees. By the 10th anniversary in 1943 the company has 179.
- 1950s: Rapid growth turns Nordborg into a Danfoss town with housing and schools for its workforce.
- 1968: Danfoss launches its VLT frequency converter, one of the first mass-produced AC drives.
- 2014: Acquisition of the Finnish drives maker Vacon, now the VACON brand.
- 2021: Acquisition of Eaton's hydraulics business.
Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
Where Danfoss products are used
In Oman and the GCC, Danfoss drives run pumps, fans and compressors in district cooling plants, water and wastewater stations, desalination and building HVAC. Danfoss pressure switches, transmitters and solenoid valves are built into chillers, refrigeration plants, boilers and hydraulic systems, and AB-QM valves balance chilled-water circuits in large buildings.

Ordering Danfoss products: what we need
Send the Danfoss code number from the label (for example 032U7115 or 131B0149) or the full drive type code (FC-302P3K0T5...). For drives, add the motor power, supply voltage and any fieldbus option. For valves, add the size, connection, medium and coil voltage. For pressure switches and transmitters, add the range, output and pressure connection.
