Danfoss 132F0030 VLT Micro Drive FC 51 7.5 kW 380-480 V Frequency Converter

Description

The 7.5 kW top rating of the M3 frame

132F0030 is the largest drive in the Danfoss VLT Micro Drive FC 51 M3 frame: 7.5 kW (10 hp), three-phase 380-480 V, model code FC-051P7K5T4E20H3BXCXXXSXXX. Output current is 15.5 A continuous at 380-440 V and 14.0 A at 440-480 V, and the input current rises to 24.8 A, so it is a substantial load for its 90 mm wide housing. The H3 RFI filter is built in, and the brake chopper allows regenerative loads such as hoists or high-inertia fans to be stopped against an external resistor.

Using the 7.5 kW FC 51 in small plant and building services

This rating is typical for 7.5 kW supply fans, chilled-water and booster pumps, compressors and machine drives. Efficiency is 98.0 percent best case and 97.5 percent typical, with an estimated loss of 175.0 W to 217.5 W. Use 40 A gG fuses (Bussmann KTS-R40 for UL) and keep the motor cable to 15 m shielded for EMC-correct installation, or use an external filter and shorter lengths where limits apply. The Design Guide lists Line Filter MCC 107 130B2527 for this code. If more capacity is needed the next steps are the 11 kW 132F0058 in the larger M4 frame.

At 7.5 kW the drive reaches the thermal limit of its small frame, so cooling space matters: 100 mm above and below is required and side-by-side mounting of IP20 units is allowed. Estimated loss is 175.0 W best case and 217.5 W typical, about 2.3 to 2.9 percent of rated power. The input current is 24.8 A at 380-440 V. A decoupling plate 132B0107 and a Type 1 kit 132B0105 are available for the M3 frame, and the Danfoss store records a gross weight of 3.646 kg for the 132F0030.

Ordering number, accessories and availability

FC-051P7K5T4E20H3BXCXXXSXXX identifies the 7.5 kW size as P7K5; E20 stands for IP20 chassis and X after B for no LCP. For the M3 frame the Design Guide lists a Type 1 kit 132B0105 and a decoupling plate 132B0107 and an IP21 kit 132B0110. Line Filter MCC 107 130B2527 is paired with 132F0030 in the ordering table. As with the family, Danfoss notes a last time buy of 30 June 2026, last delivery 30 September 2026 and an iC2-Micro upgrade path; check the position with us. Quote 132F0030 together with the full model code when requesting a price.

Key features

  • 7.5 kW in an M3 frame only 90 mm wide, with side-by-side mounting allowed for IP20 units.
  • Integrated H3 RFI filter (class A1/B, C1) and built-in brake chopper.
  • VVC+ control up to 200 Hz and U/f control up to 400 Hz.
  • 150 percent short-term overload for 1 minute, useful for starting fans and pumps with inertia.
  • High efficiency of 97.5 percent typical.
  • Supplied without LCP in this code; a keypad can be added for local setup.

Selection checks

Size the drive on motor current, not just power. A 7.5 kW four-pole motor at 400 V usually draws close to the 15.5 A continuous rating, so check the motor nameplate; if the motor current is higher, or the supply is at the upper end and current is limited to 14.0 A, move to the 11 kW 132F0058. If the load needs regular braking, select a brake resistor matched to the duty, since the chopper is built in but the resistor is external.

Operating in Oman and GCC conditions

The drive is an IP20 chassis unit and must be mounted in a panel. With up to 217.5 W of typical losses, a 7.5 kW drive adds a noticeable heat load to a small enclosure; in hot plant rooms or outdoor panels plan ventilation or air conditioning so the panel stays within the ambient limits in the Design Guide, and derate if needed. Use filtered ventilation in dusty areas and keep the 100 mm clearance above and below free. The optional IP21 and Type 1 kits are for cable and touch protection, not for outdoor exposure.

Installation and maintenance

  • Use shielded motor cable and terminate the screen on the decoupling plate.
  • Fit the specified 40 A gG or KTS-R40 fuses.
  • Keep the heatsink clean and check the cooling fan during planned shutdowns.
  • Back up parameters with an LCP or software before replacement.

Planning for the last time buy

Because Danfoss has announced the end of the FC 51 with an iC2-Micro upgrade path, users with several FC 51 drives on site should consider whether to stock spare 132F0030 units while they are available, or plan migration of new projects to the successor range. Check mounting, wiring and parameter differences before mixing ranges on one panel.

About brand

From its headquarters in Nordborg, Denmark, where it was founded in 1933, Danfoss makes the drives, valves and sensors found in pump rooms, chiller plants and cold stores. Its blue VLT frequency converters are probably the most familiar of them.

Seven Star LLC lists Danfoss VLT drives, pressure transmitters, refrigeration valves and HVAC control valves, and supplies them to contractors and plant owners in Oman against the exact code number on the label.

Danfoss product families on this page

Among the VLT drives listed, three are each aimed at a different duty: the VLT HVAC Drive FC 102 for fans and building services, the VLT AQUA Drive FC 202 for water and wastewater pumping, and the VLT AutomationDrive FC 302 for general industrial machinery. The LCP 12 control panel with potentiometer (code number 132B0101) is also listed; Danfoss specifies it for the VLT Micro Drive FC 51. In pressure measurement there are the MBS 3000 general purpose transmitter and the MBS 5100. Valves include the AB-QM pressure independent control valve in DN 15 to DN 250, the EVR 25 servo-operated solenoid valve and the ICV pilot-operated valve for industrial refrigeration.

Where Danfoss equipment is used

District cooling and chilled water plants, air handling units, booster and irrigation pump stations, desalination and wastewater works, ammonia and CO2 refrigeration plants, food storage and marine engine rooms are the usual places. Demand in the GCC is driven largely by cooling and water.

Ordering Danfoss parts: what we need

Every Danfoss product has a code number, and drives also carry a long type code string on the label. Send both. For a drive we need the motor power and current, the mains voltage, enclosure rating, any fieldbus or option card and the filter class. For an MBS transmitter give the pressure span, output signal, pressure connection and electrical connection. For valves give the size, connection type, coil voltage where relevant and the refrigerant or medium.
