Danfoss 132F0003 VLT Micro Drive FC 51 0.75 kW 230 V 1-Phase Frequency Converter
Description
A single-phase 0.75 kW drive for 230 V supplies
132F0003 is the Danfoss VLT Micro Drive FC 51 with model code FC-051PK75S2E20H3XXCXXXSXXX. It is the single-phase member of the family in this request: it accepts a 1 x 200-240 V mains supply and delivers a three-phase output of 0 to 100 percent of the supply voltage to a 0.75 kW (1 hp) induction motor. That makes it the usual choice where a workshop, a pump house or a small building services room only has a single-phase 230 V feeder but the motor is three-phase. Danfoss designed the Micro Drive as a general-purpose drive that controls AC motors up to 22 kW, built with respect for the environment and compliant with the RoHS Directive.

Where the single-phase 0.75 kW rating fits
Because the input is single-phase, the drive draws a higher line current than a three-phase unit of the same power: the Design Guide lists 11.6 A continuous and 15.6 A intermittent, against a continuous output of 4.2 A. Size the supply cable, the 25 A gG fuse and any upstream breaker from the input figures, not from the motor nameplate. The drive has no brake chopper at this size, because the Micro Drive brake chopper is only fitted from 1.5 kW upward; the code carries an X in the brake position. Typical uses are small circulating pumps, extraction fans, conveyors and mixers where soft starting and speed adjustment reduce mechanical stress.
Heat and supply budget: the Design Guide estimates 36.5 W best case and 44.0 W typical loss, roughly 5 to 6 percent of the 750 W shaft rating, which is easily absorbed by a small cabinet. Efficiency is 96.6 percent best case and 96.0 percent typical. The M1 frame is the smallest, only 70 mm wide and 148 mm deep, and can be mounted side by side with other IP20 units. Allow 100 mm above and below for cooling. The terminals take cable up to 4 mm2, which is generous for 4.2 A output but sensible for the 11.6 A input.
Ordering number, accessories and availability
The model code FC-051PK75S2E20H3XXCXXXSXXX shows PK75 for 0.75 kW and S2 for single-phase 200-240 V; X in the brake position means no chopper. For the M1 frame the Design Guide lists a Type 1 kit 132B0103 and a decoupling plate 132B0106 and an IP21 kit 132B0108. Line Filter MCC 107 130B2533 is paired with 132F0003 in the ordering table. Danfoss shows last time buy 30 June 2026 and last delivery 30 September 2026 for this number, with the iC2-Micro offered as the upgrade, so stock and successor need confirming. Key features of the VLT Micro Drive FC 51
- Two motor control principles: VVC+ voltage vector control for good torque at low speed (0–200 Hz) and U/f control for simple fan and pump loads or parallel motors (0–400 Hz).
- Automatic Motor Tuning (AMT): the drive measures the motor to optimise control, which helps when the motor is old or its nameplate data are incomplete.
- Built-in PI process controller: a pressure or flow transmitter can be connected directly so the drive holds a setpoint without a separate PLC.
- Integrated RFI filter: the H3 filter in the type code reduces conducted emissions, which simplifies EMC compliance in small installations.
- Serial communication: the RS-485 port supports Modbus RTU and the Danfoss FC protocol for monitoring and control from a PLC or BMS.
- Electronic motor thermal protection: the drive models the motor temperature to trip before the winding overheats.
- Local control panel option: the LCP 11 or LCP 12 (with potentiometer) can be clipped on for set-up and local speed adjustment; parameters can be copied between drives with the panel.
Selection guidance
Choose 132F0003 when the supply is single-phase 200–240 V and the motor is a three-phase 230 V (delta-connected) motor with a rated current not above 4.2 A. Check the motor nameplate: many small motors are marked 230/400 V and must be connected in delta for this drive. If the application needs frequent fast stops or carries an overhauling load, note that this size has no brake chopper; a larger FC 51 rating from 1.5 kW upward, or a longer ramp-down time, is the usual answer. Where the motor cable is long, check the maximum cable length for screened and unscreened cables in the Design Guide, as EMC class depends on it.
Installation and commissioning tips
- Mount vertically with the 100 mm clearance above and below so natural convection can cool the heatsink.
- Use screened motor cable with the screen terminated at both ends via the decoupling plate to keep RFI performance.
- Enter motor power, voltage, current, frequency and speed from the nameplate, then run AMT before first start.
- Set ramp-up and ramp-down times to suit the load; too short a ramp-down on a high-inertia fan can cause an overvoltage trip.
- Do not switch a contactor in the motor cable while the drive is running.
Operating in Oman and GCC conditions
The FC 51 is an IP20 chassis drive, so in Oman it belongs inside a cabinet. Summer temperatures inside outdoor panels can far exceed outdoor air temperature, so plan ventilation, filter fans or air-conditioning and check the derating curves in the Design Guide for high ambient temperatures and altitude. Dust from sand and cement plants clogs heatsinks; replace cabinet filter mats on a schedule and clean the drive during shutdowns. Near the coast, humidity and salt can cause condensation and corrosion on PCBs, so keep cabinets sealed and consider anti-condensation heaters. Typical local applications include small booster pumps for buildings, ventilation fans in workshops and farm irrigation pumps fed from single-phase supplies.

About brand
From its headquarters in Nordborg, Denmark, where it was founded in 1933, Danfoss makes the drives, valves and sensors found in pump rooms, chiller plants and cold stores. Its blue VLT frequency converters are probably the most familiar of them.
Seven Star LLC lists Danfoss VLT drives, pressure transmitters, refrigeration valves and HVAC control valves, and supplies them to contractors and plant owners in Oman against the exact code number on the label.
Danfoss product families on this page
Among the VLT drives listed, three are each aimed at a different duty: the VLT HVAC Drive FC 102 for fans and building services, the VLT AQUA Drive FC 202 for water and wastewater pumping, and the VLT AutomationDrive FC 302 for general industrial machinery. The LCP 12 control panel with potentiometer (code number 132B0101) is also listed; Danfoss specifies it for the VLT Micro Drive FC 51. In pressure measurement there are the MBS 3000 general purpose transmitter and the MBS 5100. Valves include the AB-QM pressure independent control valve in DN 15 to DN 250, the EVR 25 servo-operated solenoid valve and the ICV pilot-operated valve for industrial refrigeration.
Where Danfoss equipment is used
District cooling and chilled water plants, air handling units, booster and irrigation pump stations, desalination and wastewater works, ammonia and CO2 refrigeration plants, food storage and marine engine rooms are the usual places. Demand in the GCC is driven largely by cooling and water.
Ordering Danfoss parts: what we need
Every Danfoss product has a code number, and drives also carry a long type code string on the label. Send both. For a drive we need the motor power and current, the mains voltage, enclosure rating, any fieldbus or option card and the filter class. For an MBS transmitter give the pressure span, output signal, pressure connection and electrical connection. For valves give the size, connection type, coil voltage where relevant and the refrigerant or medium.
