Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000 microEFM Flow Computer
Description
Overview
The Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000 is a compact electronic flow measurement (EFM) computer, often called the Scanner 2000 microEFM, designed for wellhead and pipeline measurement of natural gas, hydrocarbon liquids, water and steam. In one small explosion-proof housing it combines an integral multivariable transmitter for differential pressure and static pressure, a process temperature input, a turbine meter input, flow calculations, data logging and Modbus communications. It can work as a self-contained replacement for a chart recorder, as a remote terminal unit, as a process controller, or as an EFM node in a larger SCADA network. The product line was branded Cameron by Schlumberger and is now manufactured by Sensia under the NUFLO name.
Seven Star LLC supplies the Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000 to oil and gas operators, EPC contractors, well testing companies and metering system integrators in Oman and the wider GCC. Our Muscat engineers help define the model code, multivariable transmitter range, enclosure material and certification for each site, and support integration with existing NuFlo turbine meters and SCADA systems.
Measurement Principle
For differential pressure meters such as orifice plates, cone meters and averaging pitot tubes, the Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000 reads differential pressure and absolute static pressure from its direct-mounted multivariable transmitter (MVT) and process temperature from a 100 ohm platinum RTD. It then applies the selected standard, for example AGA-3 for orifice meters or ISO 5167, together with gas composition through AGA-8-94 detail or gross methods, to compute standard volume, mass and energy flow. For linear meters the turbine input accepts the low-level sine wave from a NuFlo turbine meter pickup, with configurable sensitivity of 20 to 200 mV and a frequency range of 0 to 3,500 Hz, and applies AGA-7 for gas or API 11.1 based corrections for liquids.
Because all Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000 measurements are custody-transfer caliber and logged at the point of measurement, the device creates an audit trail that complies with API 21.1, and with regulatory requirements such as FERC 23 and Alberta Energy Regulator Directive 17. Steam is handled with IF-97 properties and James or Chisolm-Steven wet correction. When connected to additional flowmeters, a Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000 can measure gas, oil and water from a two- or three-phase separator.
Engineering Design of the Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000
The Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000 housing is cast aluminium with less than 0.05 percent copper, painted with epoxy and polyurethane, and a 316 stainless steel housing is optional for marine and offshore service. The single-ended enclosure has a window over a two-line scrolling LCD that can show up to 12 user-defined parameters and up to 99 daily logs, and a three-key membrane switch for limited field configuration. Three 3/4 in. NPT conduit entries are standard, increasing to five with an optional terminal housing. With the MVT the unit is about 145 mm wide, 127 mm deep and 244 mm tall, and weighs 5.08 kg. It mounts directly on a turbine or differential pressure meter, or remotely on a 2 in. pole.
The Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000 takes power from a lithium DD battery pack or external DC input, with the battery acting as standby. Standard I/O is one turbine input, one RTD input and one digital output configurable as pulse or alarm output. An I/O expansion board adds a second pulse input, two analog inputs at 20-bit resolution and a 4 to 20 mA analog output, which with the PID option lets the unit regulate a control valve or variable speed drive. A FOUNDATION fieldbus version is certified by the Fieldbus Foundation for interoperability.

Industrial Applications
In Oman, gas production, gas lift, gas injection and water injection networks spread over large concession areas in the interior, and many remote measurement points have no reliable mains power. A battery-powered Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000 suits wellhead gas measurement, casing and tubing pressure monitoring, fuel gas metering for compressors and generators, and allocation metering at gathering stations. Its high-speed interval logging, down to 5 seconds, supports well start-up and well testing, which is why Sensia also offers a dedicated well testing package based on the Scanner 2000.
Water injection and produced water handling, steam injection for enhanced oil recovery, and utility metering in the Sohar and Duqm industrial zones are further applications. Seven Star LLC supplies the Cameron NuFlo Scanner 2000 alongside NuFlo turbine meters and totalizers, and our Muscat team supports operators and contractors across the GCC with configuration data, spare parts and integration with existing flow computer networks.

About brand
NuFlo is an oilfield flow measurement name found on turbine flowmeters and on the readout instruments that total their output at the wellsite. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Oman, lists the Cameron NuFlo MC-III EXP local flow analyzer and totalizer and a 3-inch ANSI 150 liquid turbine flowmeter assembly, and sources NuFlo meters, pickups and spare parts by part number.
Cameron NuFlo products listed here
A liquid turbine flowmeter has a rotor that spins in proportion to flow, and a magnetic pickup on the body turns each blade pass into a pulse. The MC-III EXP is the instrument that receives those pulses, applies the meter's calibration factor and shows flow rate and accumulated total at the meter. It is an explosion-proof totalizer for gas or liquid turbine meters with 4-20 mA and pulse outputs, sold today under the Sensia name. Meter and analyzer are usually bought as a pair, but each can be replaced on its own if the calibration factor is carried over.
Ordering NuFlo meters: what we need
For a turbine meter send line size, end connection and rating, liquid, flow range, pressure and temperature, and the part number or serial number from the existing meter body. For an MC-III send the model from the nameplate, power option, outputs and the area approval required. For produced water or injection water lines in the GCC, mention solids or corrosive service.
