Liquid Controls LCR.iQ Electronic Fueling Register

Description

Configurable electronic register and data controller for fueling operations

The Liquid Controls LCR.iQ is an electronic meter register and delivery controller for truck-mounted fuel delivery, LPG bobtails and aviation refuelers. It sits on a positive displacement meter, reads the meter pulses, controls pump and valves, applies temperature compensation and prints or transmits the delivery ticket. The manufacturer designed it around a user-guided, configurable interface that leads the operator through each fueling event, with common deliveries completed in three steps or fewer.

It has a 7 in colour display (800 x 480) with day and night modes, programmable smart keys and large LED back-lit keys that work with gloves. Tickets, delivery prompts, languages, product types, pricing and screen fields are configurable, and settings can be backed up and installed on several registers. The brochure describes version 1.13 with QR-code e-tickets, definable fueler prompts, pump start and stop timers, API table 60B net-volume compensation and differential-pressure monitoring through 4-20 mA sensors.

Refined fuels, LPG and aviation functions

For refined fuels and LPG the register supports net temperature compensation, remote control, fleet-automation connectivity through the LCP data protocol and in-cab access to data. The aviation functions listed in the brochure include differential-pressure monitoring, shutdown and reporting per JIG 58, manual or automatic fuel density entry, and monitoring of water in fuel with an approved water sensor, with boundary controls and safety shut-down according to Joint Inspection Group and Airlines for America standards.

Connectivity and integration

Bluetooth supports wireless printing on compatible printers, WiFi supports wireless data transfer and diagnostics, Ethernet carries fueling control and data using the LCP protocol with transaction details available over FTP, and the serial ports carry control, data and ticket printing. The register is a drop-in retrofit for conventionally mounted registers on LC meters and can also be mounted on a panel for OEM builds.

Key features of the LCR.iQ

  • Guided operator workflow: configurable prompts lead the driver or fueler through each delivery, which reduces training time and keying errors.
  • Glove-friendly interface: the large back-lit keys and colour display are readable in bright daylight or at night on the apron.
  • Rugged enclosure: the sealed die-cast housing is built for mounting on vehicles exposed to weather, washing and fuel spills.
  • Delivery control: presets, pump timers, valve outputs and remote E-stop compatibility allow the register to control the whole delivery, not just count it.
  • Data and audit trail: transaction history plus weights and measures audit and event logs support billing reconciliation and inspections.
  • Wireless connectivity: WiFi and Bluetooth allow tickets and data to move to back-office or mobile systems without manual re-entry.

Selection guidance

The register is one part of a metering system. Before selecting it, confirm the meter it will be fitted to and its pulse output, the products to be delivered, and whether net volume with temperature compensation is required for billing. Decide whether a ticket printer is needed or whether QR-code e-tickets and electronic records will be used. For aviation refuelers, list the differential-pressure, deadman and interlock signals that must be monitored, and for LPG bobtails, the valve and pump control logic. The SENSEiQ expansion board should be included if more analog or digital points are needed than the base unit provides.

Installation and commissioning

  • Mount the register where the operator can see the display and reach the keys from the delivery position.
  • Wire the power supply within the stated DC input range, with proper fusing and grounding to the vehicle chassis.
  • Follow the hazardous area and intrinsic safety requirements of the installation documents for wiring near fuel.
  • Calibrate the meter with a proving tank, using multi-point calibration where flow rates vary widely.
  • Back up the configuration once commissioning is complete and copy it to other registers in the fleet for consistency.
  • Arrange any weights and measures sealing required before the vehicle enters billing service.

Use in Oman and GCC fueling operations

Fuel distribution fleets, LPG delivery operators, airport into-plane services and mining or construction sites with their own fuel trucks in Oman all need accurate, documented deliveries. High temperatures make temperature-compensated net volume particularly important, since fuel expands noticeably in summer. The sealed enclosure resists dust on desert routes, and the wide operating temperature range covers vehicles parked in the sun, although shading the display when parked extends its life.

What to include in your RFQ

  • Application: refined fuel truck, LPG bobtail or aviation refueler.
  • Meter make, model and size.
  • Required printer, temperature probe kit and expansion board.
  • Back-office or telematics integration needs.
  • Number of vehicles and delivery location.

Documents and quotation

State the meter model it will be mounted on, the product and meter class, the printer and valve types, the temperature probe, the number of tanks or sensors for the SENSEiQ board, the languages and prompts to load, and any weights and measures approval that applies to the delivery. About brand

Liquid Controls is the maker of the original tri-rotor positive displacement flow meter, a design patented in 1954 and first used by the U.S. Air Force, and today an IDEX Energy brand. Its meters measure refined fuels, aviation fuel, LPG, ammonia, crude oil and industrial liquids for custody transfer, and the LCR.iQ register controls and records the delivery. Seven Star LLC sources and supplies these meters and registers for fuel depots, LPG plants and tanker fleets in Oman.\n\n

Liquid Controls products listed here

\n\nThis page groups the M-Series meters for refined fuels, aviation fuel and bulk loading, the MA-Series meters for LPG and anhydrous ammonia, and the LCR.iQ electronic register that sits on the meter. Datasheets and brochures are linked on each product page.\n\n

Where tri-rotor meters are used

\n\nTypical uses are truck-mounted fuel delivery, LPG bobtail delivery, aviation refuelers, bulk plant and terminal loading of tanks, railcars and ships, and industrial transfer of syrups, solvents and oils. The manufacturer points to sustained accuracy, because there is no metal-to-metal contact in the measuring chamber.\n\n

What to send with an enquiry

\n\nSend the liquid and its viscosity, flow range, line pressure and temperature, flange size, seal material, register type and the weights and measures approval your authority requires. For a replacement, send the meter model and serial number from the type plate.
