Overview
The Industrie Technik DB-I4D/02/004-M (often written DB-14D/02/004-M) is the Master unit of the Industrie Technik DB-I4D/02/004 digital thermoregulator with 8 relays. The DB-I4D/02/004 system is made up of two housings: a Master, which carries the display and keypad, holds all operating parameters, reads the remote NTC temperature sensor and drives the first 4 output relays, and a Slave, which switches the remaining 4 relays and shows the status of the serial link between the two units.
The controller is designed to run heating and cooling plant built from heaters, heat pumps and chillers. It can command up to 8 machines and/or alarms in total, each output switching at a programmable offset from the set point with its own hysteresis. A remote set point accessory (DB-CDP/N1) can be connected to the Master, and a rotation mode is available to change the sequence in which machines are started.

Industrie Technik DB-I4D/02/004-M Installation and Wiring Notes
The Master housing carries all field wiring for the measurement side. According to the manufacturer wiring diagram, terminals 1 to 5 are the sensor inputs, terminal 6 is TXD, terminal 7 is RXD, terminal 8 is serial ground and terminal 9 is a DC output. The NTC 10K probe is wired to the Sensor 1 input and sensor ground. The four changeover relay stages 1 to 4 sit on terminals 10 to 22, and the 230 V AC supply is connected to terminals 23 and 24.
The serial link to the Slave housing (DB-I4D/02/008-S1) is taken from the serial terminals of the Master. Each housing has its own 230 V AC supply terminals, so both must be powered.
Installation and maintenance must be carried out with the controller and the external loads de-energised. To keep the IP65 rating, the cover screws have to be tightened and the cable glands closed after wiring.
Industrie Technik DB-I4D/02/004-M Selection Notes
Each of the eight outputs is configured separately with a mode (off, heating, cooling, high alarm, low alarm, or combined high/low alarm), an offset from the setpoint, a hysteresis and a minimum restart delay. Alarm outputs latch: once triggered, they stay active until a key is pressed, even if the temperature returns to normal. If the sensor is open or short-circuited, all alarm outputs are activated and every heating or cooling relay is switched off.
Stage rotation can be enabled separately for cooling and heating; the activation order then varies to even out running hours. A measurement offset is available for sensor calibration, and parameter access can be protected with a password. While parameters are being edited, all relays are de-energised.
