Description
ICM 20-B: a Kv 2.4 motor-operated valve body with 25 mm connections
The 027H1029 is an ICM 20-B motor-operated valve body, one flow step above the ICM 20-A. The steel body has 25 mm (1 in) butt-weld connections to EN 10220 and a Kv value of 2.4 m3/h. The maximum working pressure is 65 bar (943 psig), higher than the 52 bar of the ICM 20-A, and the temperature range is -60 to 120 C.
Like all ICM bodies it is paired with an ICAD actuator through a magnetic coupling, opens or closes in 3 s and has manual operation through the actuator setting or the multifunction tool. The surface is zinc coated (TLP), and the valve is listed for oil-free refrigerants R1234ze(E) and R134a.

Where ICM valves are used
The B size covers evaporator feed and bypass duty on medium-capacity ammonia circuits, and hot-gas defrost branches. Its Kv value is four times that of the A size, so choose it when the A size would throttle the flow. UL, EAC and UA approvals are listed.
Because it is the same platform as the ICS pilot-operated valve and the ICF valve station, spares and accessories can be shared between ICM, ICS and ICLX bodies, as the product page notes.
Actuator, commissioning and checks before ordering
The ICAD 600B actuator is the one listed for ICM 20, 25 and 32; the ICAD 1200B is for ICM 40 and larger. Order the actuator separately and check its communication type (Bluetooth, display, RS485 or Ethernet) for your control system.
Pressure test limits and weld procedures are in the installation guide for ICM 20 – 65. Confirm Kv, refrigerant and pressure class before ordering; do not use the valve as a shut-off device unless the controller is set to full close.

Milestones

Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
