Axiomtek IPC962A 2-Slot Industrial System
Description
A two-slot LGA1700 industrial PC for add-in cards up to 230 W
The Axiomtek IPC962A adds an expansion cage to the front-access IPC960A concept. Two slots take add-in cards, one PCIe x16 Gen 4 and one PCIe x8 (x4 signal) Gen 4, with up to 230 W of power available for cards. That suits a GPU for inference, a frame grabber or a network or motion card inside a vehicle, kiosk or machine cabinet.
It uses LGA1700 14th, 13th and 12th Generation Intel Core processors up to 65 W on either the H610E or the Q670E chipset. The housing is 170 x 192 x 260 mm, with all main connectors on the front and a DC supply of 18 to 36 VDC with ignition control.

H610E or Q670E: what changes
The Q670E system has six fast USB ports, a 2.5GbE plus a GbE port with Intel AMT, the M.2 NVMe socket and support for the MIO530 cellular module. The H610E system has four USB ports, and the datasheet lists the M.2 Key M socket only under Q670E. Both use the same two-slot cage, and the optional EIO122 module offers one PCIe x16 Gen 4 plus one PCI slot as printed in the datasheet.
Accessories include internal and external fan module kits, a 24 V 230 W adapter, a power cable (AX98268) and 500 W or 750 W PSUs on a project basis.
Before specifying
Check the add-in card power and length against the manual, and decide whether the internal fan module kit is required for a high-power card; the base system is fanless. The temperature rating applies to the stated configuration.
Planning the add-in card installation
The main reason to choose the IPC962A is its two-slot expansion cage, so the card plan should be settled before the system is ordered. List every card that will be fitted, with its slot interface, physical length and height, power draw and cooling method, and compare that list with the slot types and the add-in card power budget shown in the specification table. A GPU used for inference usually needs the PCIe x16 slot and the largest share of the power budget, while a frame grabber, network card or motion card can often use the x8 slot with x4 signalling. Check the bandwidth needs of the second card against that x4 signal width.
Where a card has its own auxiliary power connector, confirm in the manual how it is supplied inside the cage, and decide at the same time whether the internal or external fan module kit is needed. A fanless base system is attractive for dusty locations, but a high-power card may require forced airflow to stay inside its own temperature limits.
Power supply and ignition control in vehicles and cabinets
The wide DC input with ignition control makes the system suitable for vehicles and mobile machines, where the computer should start and shut down in step with the vehicle ignition rather than lose power abruptly. Configure the ignition delay settings so the operating system has time to close files before the supply is removed. In a fixed cabinet, use a stable DC supply with enough reserve for the processor, storage and add-in cards together, and protect the input with a suitable fuse or breaker. Keep DC wiring short and properly sized to limit voltage drop at start-up.
Commissioning and software image
Install the operating system on the chosen storage, load the chipset, network and graphics drivers for the H610E or Q670E board, then install the drivers for each add-in card and confirm that the cards are detected at the expected link width. On a Q670E system with Intel AMT, decide whether remote management will be used and secure it with proper credentials, or disable it. Once the image is stable, make a full disk image so that a replacement unit or storage device can be restored quickly.
Use in hot and dusty Omani locations
Control rooms, kiosks and vehicles in Oman can see high cabin temperatures during summer and fine dust through most of the year. The operating temperature rating applies only to the stated configuration with a wide-temperature SSD and the stated airflow, so assess the real installation, including heat from the add-in cards. Avoid mounting the unit where it receives direct sun through a window, keep cable entries sealed against dust, and, where a fan kit is fitted, include filter and fan inspection in the routine maintenance schedule.

About brand
Axiomtek is a Taiwanese maker of industrial computers and embedded systems, founded in 1990 in Taipei by YT Yang. It began as a systems integrator for automatic test systems, then moved into single board computers and industrial PCs. The company is based in New Taipei City and also owns the networking business EtherWAN.
Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists Axiomtek fanless eBOX computers and front-access IPC industrial systems such as the eBOX671B and the IPC980, each with the manufacturer datasheet.

Milestones
- 1990: YT Yang founds Axiomtek in Taipei.
- 2015: Axiomtek marks its 25th anniversary.
Axiomtek product families
The eBOX line covers compact fanless computers with wide DC input, from small Alder Lake-N units to LGA1700 systems with MXM graphics. The IPC line uses a vertical front-access chassis with optional PCIe slot cages for add-in cards, and one IP67 model with M12 connectors. Operating ranges, power input and I/O differ between models, so the datasheet should be read against the application, for example whether a -40 C rating, ignition control or a given number of serial ports is needed.

Ordering Axiomtek systems
Send the full order code including the suffix, plus the processor, memory, storage and any I/O modules or mounting kits. Most systems in the range are ordered without CPU, memory and drives, so those must be specified separately, and wide-temperature parts are sorted through the manufacturer. The datasheet ordering section also lists mounting kits, adapters and add-on modules for each model.
Facts checked against Axiomtek's 25th anniversary release and company profiles, October 2026.
