Kaeser ACT 16-1555 Activated Carbon Adsorbers

Description

Activated carbon adsorbers for technically oil-free air

The Kaeser ACT series of activated carbon adsorbers removes oil vapour from compressed air in continuous operation, handling 1.6 to 155.5 m³/min at 4 to 16 bar (4 to 10 bar for the larger models). Installed downstream of drying and prefiltration, they reach Class 1 residual oil content under ISO 8573-1, which the brochure describes as 0 to a maximum of 0.01 mg/m³ and as odourless, tasteless and technically oil-free air. Typical users are optical, surface technology, electronics, food and pharmaceutical processes. Pressure loss is stated at 0.1 bar or less, which keeps upstream compressor discharge pressure and energy cost down.

Reference conditions 1 bar(a), +20 °C, 0% RH; operating point 7 bar, inlet +35 °C
Options Silicone-free version per VW test standard PV 3.10.7; working pressure 16 or 45 bar for ACT 16 to 140; working pressure 10 bar for ACT 175 to 1555

Construction and operation

Each unit has a desiccant chamber with activated carbon filling, upper and lower stainless steel flow diffuser plates and separate filling and emptying ports. A chamber pressure gauge and a pressure regulator with an oil vapour indicator are fitted, the inlet and discharge lines are pre-installed with flexible positioning, and the base frame is painted with a two-component wet coating. A prefilter and an afterfilter are accessories, so plan the filter train with the adsorber. The oil vapour indicator tells the operator when the filling is spent.

Flow correction and ordering

The flow rate applies at 7 bar. For other pressures multiply by the factor in the brochure, from 0.63 at 4 bar to 1.00 at 7 bar and 1.46 at 16 bar; its example takes the ACT 140 from 14.0 to 14.84 m³/min at 8 bar. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, quotes the exact model after you give flow, working pressure, inlet temperature, required oil class and the upstream dryer type. The brochure is attached and related items are in Filtration Systems.

About brand

Kaeser Kompressoren is a German, family-owned manufacturer of compressed air systems. Carl Kaeser Sr. opened a machine workshop in Coburg on 27 June 1919, making car and engine parts. The first piston compressor followed in 1948, and in the 1970s his son Carl Kaeser Jr. developed the Sigma Profile rotor that is still the basis of Kaeser rotary screw compressors.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Kaeser compressors, blowers and air treatment equipment for industrial buyers in Oman and the GCC.

Ordering Kaeser equipment: what we need

Send the free air delivery, working pressure, ambient temperature and the required air quality class, together with the supply voltage and frequency. For replacements give the model and serial number from the nameplate, so the right Kaeser model and options can be confirmed before an offer is issued.

Facts checked against Kaeser's centenary material and trade press, October 2026.
