Description
Two-stage dry-running screw compressors for oil-free air
The Kaeser CSG-2, DSG-2 and FSG-2 series are two-stage, oil-free compression rotary screw compressors for applications where oil must not reach the compressed air, such as food, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, automotive and sensitive process supply. The brochure states flow rates of up to 51 m³/min at 4 to 10 bar. The airend runs dry, with a hydraulically operated inlet valve and fibre-free pulse dampers that keep pressure pulsation down, and the packages use the SIGMA CONTROL 2 controller with its own web server. Base-load units run at fixed speed with IE4 motors; peak-load SFC units use a synchronous reluctance motor with a matched Siemens frequency converter for system class IES2.

i.HOC drying and water cooling
The patented i.HOC rotation dryer uses the heat of compression for regeneration. According to the brochure it holds dependable sub-zero pressure dew points even at high ambient temperatures, keeps the dew point stable at low load and can be fitted with dew point control. The water-cooled versions cool both the low and high pressure stages and allow simultaneous drying and heat recovery. Request the datasheet values for the i.HOC and water-cooled variants, because their mass, sound level and dimensions differ from the air-cooled units.
Oil-free compared with oil-injected Kaeser series
These oil-free models sit alongside the oil-injected SIGMA PROFILE range. Where an oil-injected machine with downstream filtration is acceptable, the fluid-cooled series below cover similar delivery at lower purchase cost; where no oil may enter the process, the oil-free series applies.

Choose by delivery at the working pressure, the cooling medium available, the required pressure dew point and the load profile, then compare fixed speed against SFC. Kaeser Kompressoren is a German manufacturer of compressors, blowers and compressed air systems. Carl Kaeser Sr. established the company as a machine workshop in Coburg, Germany, on 27 June 1919, and the first reciprocating compressor followed in 1948. Today the range covers rotary screw and reciprocating compressors, rotary screw, turbo and rotary lobe blowers, compressor controllers, air treatment and the MOBILAIR portable compressors.
Kaeser compressor and blower range
The rotary screw compressors use the SIGMA PROFILE airend and the SIGMA CONTROL 2 controller, from compact units up to the large series for 515 kW, with oil-free compression models for sensitive applications.
