Brand:

Axis A8207-VE Mk II Network Video Door Station with RFID Reader and Keypad

Description

A door station with camera, reader, keypad and intercom in one device

The Axis A8207-VE Mk II is a network video door station that combines a 6 MP wide-angle camera, two-way audio, a keypad and an integrated multi-frequency RFID reader. Axis positions it to cover both visitors and staff with one device at the door: visitors call through SIP, employees authenticate with card, tag, PIN or door code. The camera has a 1.56 mm lens with a 180 degree horizontal field of view and records up to 3072 x 2048.

The reader supports generic 13.56 MHz credentials (MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Plus level 1, MIFARE DESFire EV1, EV2 and EV3, HID iCLASS and iCLASS SE, non-keyfobs) and 125 kHz proximity (HID Prox, EM-42xx, ISOProx II). It talks to access controllers through RS485 OSDP, Wiegand or the VAPIX reader interface. An induction loop with T-coil supports hearing-aid users, and illuminated symbols with an indicator stripe give feedback.

Credentials, lock power and system design

The A8207-VE Mk II includes a reader and a keypad, which means the access rules usually live in an access control system rather than in the door station itself. Decide which credential technologies the site uses, since the datasheet lists specific card families, and check that existing cards fall within those families. Confirm the reader protocol of the controller: OSDP over RS485 is generally the preferred secure option and Wiegand is listed for older controllers.

The door station has two relays and can power a small external load, 24 V at 0.3 A or 12 V at 0.7 A when fed by PoE+ or DC. Locks that draw more current need a separate supply and the A9801 relay or a controller. Input power matters too: PoE class 3 limits the feature set and power out, while PoE+ or an 8 to 28 V DC supply of at least 25 W allows full output.

Use the I8116-E or I8016-LVE instead where only a call button and camera are required. For an enquiry include the credential types, the controller protocol, the lock type and its current, the mounting method (wall, recessed or conduit) and the SIP system.

About brand

Axis Communications is a Swedish maker of network video and security products, founded in 1984 in Lund by Martin Gren, Mikael Karlsson and Keith Bloodworth. It started with print servers and protocol converters for IBM environments and launched one of the first network cameras in 1996. Since 2015 Axis has been part of the Canon Group, run as a separate company from its Lund headquarters.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Axis cameras and devices for plant, site and facility security projects in Oman and the GCC.
