LAMTEC BurnerTronic BT300 Burner Control System

Description

A modular burner control and fuel/air ratio system that mounts on the burner

The LAMTEC BurnerTronic BT300 combines an electronic fuel/air ratio controller with an electronic burner control unit. Up to three motorised actuators modulate the air and fuel drives, and optional modules add variable speed control of the combustion air fan, fieldbus interfaces, load control and dual-fuel operation, all communicating on the LAMTEC SYSTEM BUS (LSB). LAMTEC describes it as particularly suited to monobloc burners and designed to be mounted directly on the burner, where short wiring routes and plug-and-socket motors cut installation time.

Standard functions include integrated valve proving, flame monitoring, exhaust gas recirculation and operating hour and start counters. Oxygen trim, CO control, load control and dual-fuel functions are options. Curves and parameters are set on the UI300 user interface or with LAMTEC LSB Remote Software, and faults appear as concise messages on the UI300.

Optional modules and flame sensors

Order information in the LAMTEC overview lists the LCM100 load control module (667R0500-1) with integrated 24 V dc supply, LSB gateway, 4-20 mA retransmission, pulse counter inputs and three PT100/PT1000 inputs; the LEM100 LSB expansion module (667R0400-1); the VSM100 variable speed module (667R0200-1, requires LCM100); the DFM300 dual-fuel module (667R0600-1 for 230 V, 667R0600-2 for 115 V); and fieldbus modules PBM100 PROFIBUS DP (667R0700-1), EBM102 MODBUS TCP (667R0725-1) and EBM112 PROFINET 2-port (667R0740-1). Listed UV flame monitors are the KLC1000 (667R0800-1, radial view) and KLC2002 (667R0810-1, axial view, oil flames in intermittent operation).

What to confirm before ordering

Confirm the fuel (gas, oil or dual fuel), the number of actuators, 230 or 115 V ac supply, whether a SIL 3 version is required, the flame sensor type, and any fan speed, load control or fieldbus modules. Related LAMTEC flame monitoring on this site includes the LAMTEC F200K Ex flame scanner, and burner equipment is listed under burners and gas trains.

About brand

Burner and boiler engineers know LAMTEC, of Walldorf in Germany, for equipment that supervises and controls combustion: flame monitoring, burner management, O2 and CO measurement in flue gas, and ignition devices. Seven Star LLC lists LAMTEC flame sensors and compact flame scanners and supplies LAMTEC flame monitoring parts to boiler houses and process plants in Oman and the GCC.

LAMTEC flame monitoring products

LAMTEC builds flame monitoring in two ways. The FFS07 and FFS08 are separate flame sensors that work with the F152 evaluation unit, which sits in the control cabinet. The F200K and F300K are compact flame scanners that need no separate evaluation unit. The F200K is also made in Ex versions for hazardous areas, and the F200K Ex is listed on this page together with the F300K, the FFS08 and the BurnerTronic BT300 burner control system.

Ordering LAMTEC flame scanners: what we need

A flame scanner is chosen for the fuel and the burner, so the type designation alone is not enough. Send the full type and article number from the label, the serial number, the fuel or fuels fired, the spectral range of the existing sensor, the supply voltage, cable length, and whether the device stands in a hazardous area. A photo of the label and of the mounting saves time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the BT300 do?
It combines an electronic fuel/air ratio controller with a burner control unit and can modulate air and fuel with up to three motorised actuators.
Which BT300 versions have SIL 3?
The BT331 and BT341, which add DIN EN 61508 SIL 3 and PL e under DIN EN ISO 13849-1.
Can the BT300 control dual-fuel burners?
Yes. The BT335 offers simple dual-fuel oil/gas without the DFM300, and the BT340 and BT341 use the DFM300 for oil/gas or gas/gas.
Which fieldbus modules are available?
PBM100 PROFIBUS DP, EBM102 MODBUS TCP and EBM112 PROFINET.
Can fan speed be controlled?
Yes, with the optional VSM100 variable speed module over the LAMTEC SYSTEM BUS, which requires the LCM100.
