Brand: Fireye
Fireye InSight 95DSS2 UV/IR Integrated Flame Scanner
Description
A dual UV and IR flame scanner with AutoTune for multi-fuel and multi-burner plant
The Fireye InSight 95DSS2 is a microprocessor-based integrated flame scanner that combines an ultraviolet and an infrared sensor in one housing, with an internal flame relay that has adjustable ON and OFF thresholds, so no remote flame amplifier is required. Fireye lists the InSight scanners as replacements for the 45FS1 and 45UVFS1 Signature scanners and the 45RM4 for detecting the presence or absence of flame in single or multi-burner applications. The scanner measures the amplitude of the modulations, the flame flicker, within the target flame and selects the modulation frequency that gives the best flame ON/OFF discrimination.
The InSight Type 95 family has IR (95IR), UV (95UV) and dual-sensor (95DS) types, each in two feature levels. The 95DSS2 is the dual-sensor Expanded S2 model, suited to larger multi-burner boilers and furnaces and to multi-fuel firing.

Choosing between S1 and S2, and between UV, IR and dual
The Standard S1 model has three modulation frequencies, adjustable gain and thresholds, a 4-20 mA output and two setpoint files, which covers single-burner boilers, furnaces and duct burners. The Expanded S2 adds AutoTune, 21 frequencies, four files and remote communications, which saves commissioning time on multi-burner units. Choose UV for gas, IR for oil and coal, and the dual sensor where the burner fires several fuels. Specify the mounting flange, cable length and whether you need a CG, CE or CEX variant at order.
Sight the scanner so that the primary combustion zone is in its line of sight and use the LED display feedback to align it. Related combustion safety equipment is listed under burners and gas trains and flame detection; compare the LAMTEC FFS08 flame sensor.
