Description
A 6.2 mm relay interface module between PLC and load
The 38.51.7.024.0050 is a relay interface module from the Finder 38 series. It is a 6.2 mm wide slim housing that carries a plug-in 6 A electromechanical relay with one changeover contact on a screw (box clamp) terminal socket, driven by a 24 V DC sensitive coil. The coil needs only about 10 mA, so it can be switched directly from a PLC digital output without an intermediate stage.
The module snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail (EN 60715) and carries an integral coil indicator and protection circuit. The relay is ejected with a plastic retaining clip, so a failed relay is replaced without tools and without rewiring the socket. Fitting one slim module per output is the usual way to isolate PLC outputs from 230 V loads, contactor coils or solenoids in a control panel.

Choosing the right 38 series module
The 38 series covers more than this one module. The 38.51 and 38.61 types are the 6 A slim relays (box clamp and screwless terminals respectively), 38.81 and 38.91 are single-output solid state versions in the same 6.2 mm width, 38.21 is a timed interface module, and the 14 mm wide 38.01, 38.11, 38.52 and 38.62 types add 16 A single-pole and 8 A two-pole relays. The 38.51 is the one to choose for ordinary 24 V PLC outputs switching relay and contactor coils.
For leakage-prone outputs such as triac cards over long cables, the 38.51.3 versions with leakage current suppression exist for 110 to 125 V and 230 to 240 V coils. The 24 V DC coil of this model does not need them.
What to confirm before ordering
Confirm the control voltage (24 V DC here), the load current and voltage against the 6 A, 250 V AC contact rating, and whether screw or screwless terminals are preferred.
