ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro Vibration Analyzer with Thermal Imaging

Description

Overview

The ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro is the flagship portable instrument from ADASH, the Czech specialist in vibration diagnostics. It combines a four-channel vibration analyzer, a route data collector, a field balancer, a raw signal recorder and, optionally, a thermal imaging camera and ultrasound detector in one rugged tablet-style unit. Reliability engineers use the ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro to measure, analyze and document the condition of pumps, compressors, fans, gearboxes, turbines and electric motors without carrying several separate tools to site.

Seven Star LLC supplies the ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro to refineries, gas plants, power stations, desalination plants and heavy industry across the Sultanate of Oman and the GCC, with regional stock and engineering support in Muscat. Our team helps maintenance departments choose the right sensors, software modules and accessories so the instrument is ready for real route work from the first day.

Measurement Principle

Vibration analysis rests on the fact that every mechanical fault leaves a signature in the vibration signal of a machine. Unbalance appears at running speed, misalignment at running speed and its harmonics, looseness as a rich family of harmonics, and rolling bearing defects as high-frequency impacts at the characteristic bearing frequencies. The ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro digitizes signals from accelerometers, velocity sensors or proximity probes with 24-bit conversion and 64-bit internal processing, and it does so without an auto-gain function, so the full 120 dB dynamic range is always available and small bearing signals are not hidden beneath large running-speed components.

From the raw signal the instrument computes overall values, time waveforms and real-time FFT spectra with resolution from 100 up to 3,276,800 lines, as well as envelope (DEMOD) analysis for early bearing faults, ACMT analysis for low-speed bearings, order analysis, orbit and centerline plots from proximity probes and user-defined band values. With one channel active the frequency range extends from 0.35 Hz up to 90 kHz; with all four channels sampled simultaneously it reaches 25 kHz. Simultaneous sampling matters in practice: phase between channels is preserved, which is what makes orbit plots, cross-channel comparison and operating deflection shape animation possible.

Engineering Design of the ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro

The unit is built around an Intel Atom processor and a large 1125 x 800 pixel touchscreen, complemented by a hardware keypad for use with gloves. The heavy-duty aluminium case is rated IP65, weighs 1.98 kg and measures 29.5 x 23 x 4.9 cm. Internal memory of 64 GB stores routes of up to 16 GB each, recordings, photographs and thermal images, and data is transferred to the PC over USB 3.0. The battery provides around eight hours of operation, and the operating temperature range is -10 °C to +50 °C.

The top panel carries four AC inputs with switchable ICP sensor supply, four DC inputs for process values such as temperature or pressure, and a tacho input for a speed probe or external trigger. A built-in 5 MP autofocus camera documents oil leaks, damaged guards or nameplates, while the optional thermal camera with 384 x 288 pixels and 50 mK sensitivity adds infrared inspection of bearings, couplings, electrical connections and heat exchangers. Everything captured is kept together in the instrument gallery and linked to the measurement point.

Key Features

The ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro brings these capabilities to a single field instrument:

  • Eight-channel signal analyzer with four AC vibration inputs, four DC process inputs and a tacho input, all sampled synchronously.
  • Frequency range from 0.35 Hz to 90 kHz on one channel and up to 25 kHz on four simultaneous channels.
  • FFT resolution up to 3,276,800 lines for separating closely spaced gear-mesh and electrical frequencies.
  • Raw signal recorder with 64 kHz sampling and up to 20 hours of four-channel recording for later post-processing.
  • One-plane and two-plane field balancing of fans, blowers, spindles and other rotors.
  • FASIT expert system that automatically flags unbalance, misalignment, looseness and bearing faults.
  • Motor current signature analysis, octave sound analysis, bump test, run-up and coast-down and operating deflection shapes.
  • Optional thermal imaging camera and ultrasound detection in the 30 to 50 kHz band for leaks, arcing and early bearing wear.

Industrial Applications

In oil and gas service the ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro is used on centrifugal and screw compressors, crude and product pumps, cooling fans and gas turbine auxiliaries. Its proximity probe readiness and orbit display are useful when a portable check is needed alongside permanently installed protection such as the Bently Nevada 3500/42M Proximitor Seismic Monitor, while the recorder captures transient events during start-up of large machines in plants around Sohar, Duqm and Salalah. Water utilities and desalination plants use it on high-pressure RO pumps and seawater intake pumps, where bearing envelope analysis and thermal imaging together give early warning of failures.

Power stations, cement plants, steel mills and food factories across Oman and the GCC rely on route-based predictive maintenance. The ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro collects route data that is trended in ADASH DDS software, and teams already using the ADASH A4400 VA4 Pro II vibration analyzer can move routes between instruments. Seven Star LLC supplies the ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro with matching accelerometers such as the PCB Piezotronics 356A01 tri-axial accelerometer, cables and magnetic bases, and supports customers in Muscat with configuration advice for their machine population.

When specifying the ADASH A4500 VA5 Pro, maintenance teams should list the number of machines on their routes, whether proximity probe measurements or balancing will be required, and whether the thermal camera and ultrasound options are needed. These details determine the module set and accessory kit, and they help us quote a complete, ready-to-use package.
