Brand:

Kidde ADS HFC-227ea Engineered Clean Agent Suppression System

Description

Clean agent protection for larger hazard areas

The Kidde ADS with HFC-227ea is an engineered clean agent suppression system that Kidde Fire Systems developed for larger enclosures and longer agent flow distances. According to the manufacturer’s sell sheet, the Advanced Delivery System discharges at mass flow rates 2.5 to 3 times faster than a standard clean agent system, which allows longer pipe runs in complex layouts with smaller pipe sizes.

What the sell sheet says about performance

The manufacturer highlights five points: increased agent flow rates and distances for larger hazard areas, smaller piping diameter that cuts installation cost, flexible design, higher cylinder fill capacity, and directional valves for protecting several enclosures from one agent supply. It describes clean agents as non-toxic when used in compliance with NFPA 2001, effective on Class A surface fires, Class B flammable liquids and Class C electrical fuels, and removed by ventilation afterwards.

This is a design-engineered system, not a catalogue item sold from a single part number. A supplier needs the room volume and temperature, enclosure integrity, the required design concentration, pipe layout and cylinder locations before cylinder quantity, fill weight, valves, nozzles and control equipment can be defined. The sell sheet lists the control unit, detection, cylinders, notification devices and manual pull stations as parts of the integrated system. Kidde panels such as the AEGIS-PHX and ARIES range are described in their own datasheets as controlling ADS clean agent systems.

A single sell sheet does not give nozzle data, flow calculation results or cylinder sizes, so this page is a system overview. Exact part numbers for cylinders, valves and nozzles must come from the manufacturer’s design documents. Installation, commissioning and room integrity testing are performed by a qualified fire contractor.

What to confirm before ordering

Send the protected volume, the number of enclosures, the agent required (HFC-227ea), the preferred approval basis such as UL, FM or USCG, and the project specification. For spares or recharge, the nameplate data and the fill weight are needed, as with the Kidde FM-200 200 lb cylinder listed on this site.

About brand

Engineered fire suppression hardware, cylinders, valves and the control heads that release them, is the side of Kidde that industrial sites deal with. The name goes back to 1917. Seven Star LLC lists Kidde clean agent cylinders, control heads and pilot cylinders, and supplies Kidde fire systems parts to operators and fire contractors in Oman as an independent supplier. Household smoke alarms and aircraft systems sold under the same name are outside our scope.

Kidde fire suppression parts listed here

The listed items are release-train components: the WK-890181-000 electric control head, a 24 V DC unit used on Kidde FM-200 systems, an FM-200 (HFC-227ea) clean agent cylinder in the 200 lb size, and the K62462 pilot gas cylinder. Kidde also builds high-pressure CO2 systems with their own control heads and nitrogen pilot cylinders. Typical sites in the GCC are turbine enclosures, switchgear and control rooms, data halls and marine machinery spaces.

Ordering Kidde parts: what we need

Kidde components are ordered by part number, so send it exactly as printed on the label or in the system drawings. For an agent cylinder we also need the fill weight, valve type and the transport documents required. Send the nameplate photo and the system design reference whenever possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Kidde ADS?
ADS stands for Advanced Delivery System, Kidde Fire Systems' engineered clean agent system built for larger enclosures and longer agent flow distances.
Which agent does this page cover?
HFC-227ea, as in the manufacturer's sell sheet titled ADS with HFC-227ea. The manufacturer's website also pairs the platform with Fluoro-K.
Why can ADS use smaller pipe?
The sell sheet states that mass flow rates are 2.5 to 3 times faster than a standard clean agent system, so longer runs can be networked with smaller pipe sizes.
What approvals are printed on the sell sheet?
UL Listed, FM Approved and USCG Approved.
Can one ADS supply protect several rooms?
The sell sheet lists directional valves for economic protection of multiple enclosures, subject to the system design.
