Brand:

Elkhart Brass HF13-750 Hydro-Foam Self-Educting Foam Nozzle

Description

A larger self-educting foam nozzle for monitors

The Elkhart Brass HF13-750 is the larger of the two HF13 Hydro-Foam nozzles and suits monitor use where 700 gpm class foam flow is needed without a separate proportioning system. Elkhart gives the data sheet rating as 715 gpm (2700 LPM) at 100 psi (7 bar), while its catalog names the model by the 750 gpm class, so confirm the exact rating for your design. It has a 2.5 in female swivel inlet and a built-in metering device that draws concentrate through the included 9 ft (2.7 m) clear vinyl pick-up hose at 1 percent or 3 percent.

The stream pattern is easily adjusted under flowing conditions from 90 degree wide fog to straight jet, and the nozzle is suited to Class A and Class B foam including AR-AFFF, AFFF, FFF and fluoroprotein.

Proportioning options and accessories

The HF13 nozzles regulate foam either with a proportioning disc or with a metering valve. Drum pick-up kit number 2 is designed for the HF13-750 and HF13-1000 and allows the foam inlet to be pre-connected to a drum or tote of concentrate; it includes a PVC pick-up tube with a shut-off valve, a brass vacuum breaker and 8 ft (2.4 m) of clear reinforced vinyl hose.

Self-educting nozzles need adequate inlet pressure and a short, unobstructed pick-up line, because the foam is drawn in by the flow through the nozzle rather than pushed in by a pump. Using the nozzle on a monitor, such as the Stingray or Copperhead, gives a foam attack without a separate proportioner, but the concentrate must be within reach of the pick-up hose. The 715 gpm figure on the data sheet and the 750 gpm in the model name should both be quoted in any specification so the intended flow is clear. Flush the foam line with clean water after use, as the instruction sheets for Elkhart foam nozzles advise.

About brand

Elkhart Brass is an American manufacturer of firefighting nozzles, monitors and valves, founded in 1902 in Elkhart, Indiana, by Norwegian immigrant Albert E. Hansen. It started with straight bore tips, wyes, siamese and standpipe connections, and in 1936 introduced the Mystery nozzle, America's first peripheral jet fog nozzle. Elkhart Brass still operates at its original site with an in-house brass and aluminium foundry and has been part of Safe Fleet since 2015.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list selected Elkhart Brass monitors and nozzles with the technical data published by the manufacturer, for fire protection contractors and plant fire teams in Oman and the GCC.
