Task Force Tips BlitzFire XX211A Oscillating Portable Monitor

Description

The Task Force Tips BlitzFire XX211A is the oscillating version of the BlitzFire ground monitor: a manually aimed portable master-stream device that can sweep itself across a 20, 30 or 40 degree arc while it flows up to 500 gpm (2000 L/min). The sweep is driven by a water turbine, so there is no electrical supply to arrange, and the unit is aimed for the fire it is covering and then left to work with a tie-down strap holding it in place.

What separates BlitzFire from a basic portable monitor is its safety shut-off. The slide valve closes automatically if the monitor shifts sideways, for example when it is not tied down or the legs are not deployed, and the manual describes it as the feature that makes unattended operation reasonable. The XX211A has a 2.5 in (65 mm) NH female swivel rocker inlet, a 2.5 in NH male rigid outlet, a vertical range of 10 to 46 degrees and a blue finish.

How the oscillator and safety shut-off work

The oscillating mechanism is driven by a turbine wheel and a worm gear reduction, so the sweep speed follows the flow: the manual tabulates 8 cycles per minute at 175 gpm rising to 28 cycles per minute at 500 gpm. The sweep angle is set by sliding a block and the oscillation is started or stopped with a latching pull pin. A shock-absorber system protects the gears if the nozzle meets an obstruction. The manual says to subtract 20 percent from the nozzle reach when oscillating.

The manual also points out that the ends of an oscillation sweep receive more water than the center because the nozzle slows down and reverses, so for cooling a target that needs the most water in the middle you may narrow the sweep or aim the unit by hand.

Selection and ordering guide

Choose XX211A when you want oscillation on a 10 to 46 degree standard-elevation body. The plain XX111A and high-elevation units are separate numbers, and the lighter BlitzForce XXL111A is a simpler ball-valve alternative. No nozzle is included; nozzle reaction can reach 330 lb (150 kg) at 500 gpm. The NH threads need adapters for BS or Storz hose.

Installation and operation notes

Always tie the monitor off with the factory strap before using the oscillator: the manual warns that the reaction force changes direction on the spikes as it sweeps and can cause sliding. Do not modify the oscillator to fit another monitor, which the manual states can cause a very high force spin. Open the valve only from the locked closed position by pulling the knob, move the handle slowly into one of the six detents, and keep hands away from the moving parts.

Applications in GCC industry

Oscillating monitors are used for continuous exposure cooling: tank shells, pipe racks, LPG spheres and loading arms in refineries, gas plants and terminals, and for crowd-free coverage at warehouses and port stacks. The turbine needs no electrical supply. Fluid is limited to 1 to 50 C.

Compatible items

The manual covers the optional storage bracket, TFT stacked and smooth-bore tips, automatic and selectable nozzles and foam eductors, all separate part numbers.

Installation and selection notes

Place the monitor on firm ground and fix the tie-down strap as the manual explains, so that the unit does not move under the reaction force. Connect hoses of the right size, set the oscillation arc before opening the valve and keep people clear of the stream. Inspect the unit after use, flush it and store it clean.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any hoses, couplings or accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, flows, pressures and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

Frequently asked questions

Does the XX211A need electrical power for oscillation?
No. The sweep is driven by a water turbine and gear drive, and the manual requires at least 175 gpm for it to run.

What sweep angles are available?
The sweep can be set to 20, 30 or 40 degrees, and the oscillation can be stopped with the pull pin so the monitor is aimed by hand.

What does the safety shut-off do?
The valve closes if the monitor is subjected to side force that indicates it has shifted, such as a missing tie-down or undeployed legs.

Is a nozzle included?
No, XX211A is supplied as the monitor only, with a 2.5 in NH male outlet.

What should I confirm before ordering?
Confirm the thread standard of your hose, the nozzle to be fitted, whether you need the high-elevation or non-oscillating variant, and the current manual revision, then request a quotation with the part number.
