Koike Aronson IK-12 Beetle Portable Oxy-Fuel Cutting Machine
Track-guided oxy-fuel cutting for plate preparation
The Koike Aronson IK-12 Beetle is a portable, track-guided oxy-fuel cutting machine and, according to Koike, the company’s longest-running track torch. The carriage carries one machine torch along a rigid track to produce straight cuts, bevel cuts through an adjustable torch holder with gear rack, and circle cuts with an optional bar set. Its aluminium body keeps the weight at about 9.5 kg for the S-100 model.
A stepless drive with single-cone speed control holds a steady travel speed under heat. Koike also notes that the Beetle uses the same track system as the discontinued Radiagraph, so existing track can be reused when replacing that machine.

Choosing the kit and accessories
Choose the kit by fuel gas. The acetylene kit IK12S100102 comes with 102 tips and the LPG kit IK12S100106 with 106 tips. Koike’s product page lists each set with the machine unit, a track section, the Koike oxy-fuel torch, three cutting tips in sizes 0, 1 and 2, and a Sentinel Safety-Z coupling set. Tip size is selected according to plate thickness within the 5–50 mm range.
Long cuts need extra track. The 72 in (1,800 mm) sections link together and fit both the IK-12 Beetle and the IK-12 Next. Flange blanks, openings and other round parts call for the circle cutting bar set. Hoses, regulators and gas supply are not part of the machine kit, and the site needs a power supply that matches the ordered voltage.
For bevel cuts, Koike describes adjusting the torch holder at the bottom edge of the plate, with a gear rack and bevel drive keeping the torch position precise while the carriage travels. Straight cuts rely on the constant, stable movement of the carriage along the track, so the track should be laid flat and parallel to the cut line.
The Beetle covers plate up to 50 mm. Koike’s IK-12 Next is the related machine for users who need its additional capabilities, while heavier mechanised work belongs to the IK-72 range.
