GCE U7 Original G0763473 Torch Shank

Description

One shank for welding, heating and cutting attachments

The GCE U7 Original G0763473 is the shank (handle) of the GCE U7 torch system for medium and heavy-duty oxy-fuel work. All U7 welding, heating and cutting attachments fit this one shank, so a single handle with its valves and hoses can be converted from welding to cutting or heating by changing the attachment. The system and its nozzles conform to EN ISO 5172.

GCE describes the U7 as a durable, ergonomic design with a powder-coated surface, a forged body and head, and front-mounted, colour-coded control valves with stainless spindles for fine, leak-free adjustment.

Applications of the U7 system

According to GCE, the U7 system covers gas welding up to 14 mm, cutting up to 100 mm including circle, hole and bevel cutting and rivet washing, braze welding and brazing, heating, bending and straightening, gouging, flame cleaning and flame straightening. This makes it a practical single kit for maintenance workshops, sheet-metal and pipe work and on-site repairs. Separate welding nozzles for acetylene and propane are listed on the GCE product page by size.

As a general rule with interchangeable torch systems, check the sealing faces and any O-rings each time an attachment is changed and follow the tightening instructions in the user manual; a damaged seal can leak gas at the joint. A leak test with a suitable leak detection fluid after assembly is good practice. Fit flashback arrestors at the regulators for every oxy-fuel set. For dedicated heavy cutting, GCE also offers stand-alone cutting torches such as the GCE X511 Original.

Ordering GCE torches and regulators: what we need

Give the GCE article number, or the product range with length, head angle and inlet threads. State the fuel gas, acetylene or propane, because the nozzle type depends on it, together with the plate thickness you cut and the safety devices required on site.
