Description
An addressable release panel for one loop
The Kidde ARIES-SLX is an intelligent, addressable, single-loop fire alarm and suppression control unit. One signaling line circuit carries up to 255 SmartOne addressable devices, and six output circuits cover notification and agent release. It is aimed at single- and multi-hazard waterless suppression: the datasheet lists Kidde ECS and ADS clean agent, inert gas, HP and LP CO2, WHDR wet chemical, IND dry chemical and Marioff HI-FOG water mist, along with sprinkler supervisory, deluge/pre-action and foam systems by others.

Where the ARIES-SLX fits in the range
The SLX is the compact member of the ARIES family. A single SmartOne loop is enough for one hazard area or a small plant room with photoelectric smoke detectors (DS-PS), heat detectors (DS-HFS), duct detectors (DS-SD), monitor modules and control modules. Linear heat sensor cable connects through addressable input modules, and AIR-Intelligence air sampling detectors connect through addressable protocol interface cards. For two or more loops, or expansion beyond 255 addresses at one location, the multi-loop ARIES-MLX is the datasheet family member to consider.
Programming is done with the ACT-SLX configuration tool over USB. A front panel AutoLearn routine builds a general-alarm program quickly, while Auto-Setup configures the typical waterless suppression scenario. Spurt and Squirt functions and Modbus TCP/IP are listed features.
What to confirm before ordering
Give the suppression system type and the control head or solenoid part numbers, the number of addressable devices, whether any networking or remote display modules are needed, the mains voltage and the battery size. The panel is backward compatible with Kidde, Fenwal and Chemetron control heads and initiators, and the datasheet says it can network with legacy Chemetron and Fenwal single-loop units, which helps in replacement projects. Check the version for your region: the USA and non-USA part numbers differ. Commissioning and acceptance belong to the licensed fire contractor.

About brand
Engineered fire suppression hardware, cylinders, valves and the control heads that release them, is the side of Kidde that industrial sites deal with. The name goes back to 1917. Seven Star LLC lists Kidde clean agent cylinders, control heads and pilot cylinders, and supplies Kidde fire systems parts to operators and fire contractors in Oman as an independent supplier. Household smoke alarms and aircraft systems sold under the same name are outside our scope.

The listed items are release-train components: the WK-890181-000 electric control head, a 24 V DC unit used on Kidde FM-200 systems, an FM-200 (HFC-227ea) clean agent cylinder in the 200 lb size, and the K62462 pilot gas cylinder. Kidde also builds high-pressure CO2 systems with their own control heads and nitrogen pilot cylinders. Typical sites in the GCC are turbine enclosures, switchgear and control rooms, data halls and marine machinery spaces.
