Overview
The C-TEC CFP708-4 is an eight-zone conventional fire alarm control panel, LPCB certified to EN54 parts 2 and 4, and manufactured by C-TEC in the UK. It provides eight detector zone circuits and four conventional sounder circuits in an attractive flush- or surface-mountable plastic enclosure, with an intuitive user interface using colour-coded buttons and combined keypad/keyswitch entry. The panel is supplied with an integral 1.5 A EN54-4/A2 compliant switch-mode power supply and space for two 12 V VRLA backup batteries.
Engineering and Design
A wide range of engineering functions is built in, including zone test, coincidence, zone delay and non-latching zones, plus comprehensive test and fault-finding facilities. The panel includes two on-board relays (fire and fault), two open-collector outputs (remote and reset), and class change and alert inputs for integration with building management systems. Eight zone circuits support a maximum circuit length of 500 m with up to 25 detectors per zone (32 combined with manual call points), and the quiescent current draw is a low 25 mA.
The CFP708-4 operates from a 230 V 50/60 Hz mains supply with a maximum 350 mA current draw, providing an internal supply of 19-28.5 V DC (nominal 27 V) with total output current limited to 1.5 A. Two 12 V VRLA batteries (max 3.2-3.3 Ah) in series provide standby power, with a minimum battery size of 1.2 Ah. Expansion connections support up to eight two-wire repeaters (one CFP761 network card per system) and optional CFP relay boards, and the panel is fully compatible with C-TEC’s ActiV range of conventional detectors with options for EN54-13 compliant sounder circuit boards.
