The Graco LubePro A2800 is a pneumatically powered, single-stroke vertical oil pump for automatic lubrication of in-plant machinery. Compressed air drives the pump, which delivers a measured shot of oil to the injectors on a bearing lubrication line, so lube points get oil on schedule while the machine runs.

Automatic lubrication replaces hand oiling with a pump, a supply line and metering injectors. The A2800 is the pump in that arrangement. Each air stroke pushes 0.56 cubic inches of oil into the supply line at up to 3500 psi, with a 28:1 pressure ratio, and an integrated vent relieves line pressure on the return stroke so that the injectors can reset without a pressure switch or extra wiring.

The reservoir is made of polycarbonate and comes in 0.6 litre or 2 litre sizes. Low-level versions add a switch that can signal a controller when the oil is running out.

Choosing the model and installing it

The manual groups the A2800 models by reservoir size and low-level switch. The 0.6 L models are 24Z021 and 24Z022 and the 2 L models are 24Z026, 24Z027 and 24Z028; the manual’s model table marks each low-level part as normally open or normally closed. Select the pump to suit the oil volume per cycle and the number of lube points on the line.

The pump needs a clean, regulated air supply, a grounded mounting and a fluid with a viscosity of at least 40 cSt. Fill through the strainer in the top cover, prime the supply lines, feeder lines and injectors in turn, and follow the manual’s air-lock procedure. Use only non-corrosive, non-abrasive lubricants, and follow the pressure relief procedure in the manual before servicing, because high-pressure fluid can pierce the skin.
