01What are the dimensions of a Timken 32206 bearing?
The 32206 follows the ISO metric tapered roller bearing series: bore 30 mm, outside diameter 62 mm and overall width 21.25 mm. It is a single-row bearing supplied as a cone (inner ring with rollers and cage) and a cup (outer ring). Confirm load ratings and tolerances on the Timken datasheet for the exact part number.
02How are Timken part numbers for inch-series bearings read?
Inch-series tapered bearings are not sold under one number. The cone and the cup each have their own part number, and one cone can run with several cups of different outside diameter or width. Both numbers are stamped on the ring faces. Send both, because the cone number on its own does not define the assembly.
03Can a tapered roller bearing of another make be replaced with a Timken bearing?
Metric bearings such as the 32206 are made to ISO boundary dimensions, so the same designation fits the same housing and shaft. Internal design, cage and load ratings can still differ between makers, and cups and cones of different makes should not be mixed in one bearing. Replace the complete bearing and check the rating if the duty is heavy.
