Danfoss 132L6116 iC2-Micro Drive 0.37 kW 380-480 V IP20

Description

iC2-Micro 0.37 kW three-phase: the smallest 400 V drive in this lane

The 132L6116 is an iC2-Micro with a three-phase 380 to 480 V input and a rated output of 1.2 A, which corresponds to 0.37 kW (0.5 HP). Its type code IC2-30FA3N04-01A2E20F4+ACXX decodes as air-cooled frequency converter, three-phase input, 380 to 480 V class, 1.2 A current rating, IP20 protection and EMC category C4.

The frame designation is MA01a and the net weight is just 1.055 kg. Such a drive suits a small fan, a metering or dosing pump, a lab mixer or a light conveyor where fine speed control is wanted but the power is only a few hundred watts.

Using a very small drive correctly

Small motors have a high ratio of no-load current to rated current, so the motor data must be entered carefully and the automatic motor adaptation should be run if the guide recommends it. A mismatch between a 0.37 kW motor and a larger drive causes poor control; here the drive and motor are well matched at 1.2 A.

Shield the motor cable, fit a ferrite or a filter if the cable is long, and remember that a 1.2 A drive can be tripped by the charging current of a very long cable, which is a reason to keep the motor cable short on small sizes.

Mounting and compliance

IP20 / open type means the drive goes into a cabinet or a closed machine enclosure. The guide for the iC2-Micro says the IP20 unit must be installed in a cabinet or with an IP21 conversion kit. The EMC category is C4, suited to industrial use; add a filter when the unit shares a supply with sensitive equipment.

The unit has no integrated brake chopper (+ACXX), no customisation and the latest released software. Other codes in the same family offer different currents, voltages and options.

A drive this small is easy to overlook in a spares list, but it is also easy to confuse with the single-phase 1.5 kW sibling that has a similar type code. The two digits after the dash in the code give the current, and the letter after FA gives the phase count, so read the nameplate carefully when ordering a spare. We are happy to compare the nameplate photo with the code on this page.

We prefer to confirm the application before quoting 132L6116: the medium or load, the supply or pressure, the ambient temperature and the standards that apply. A short message with these points avoids the wrong variant being ordered and keeps the project schedule safe.

Ordering notes

Please confirm supply voltage, motor current and installation before ordering. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat and can quote 132L6116. The attached Danfoss iC2-Micro operating guide AQ379331704297 holds the dimensions and wiring; more drives are listed under AC drives.

About brand

Danfoss is the Danish engineering group that makes refrigeration and air-conditioning controls, heating components, variable speed drives and mobile hydraulics. Mads Clausen founded it on 1 September 1933 at his parents' farm in Nordborg on the island of Als, after making his first refrigeration expansion valve in 1932. Nordborg is still the group's headquarters, and Danfoss remains controlled by the Clausen family through the Bitten & Mads Clausen Foundation.

Milestones

  • 1932–1933: First expansion valve; the company is founded in Nordborg.
  • 1939: 26 employees. By the 10th anniversary in 1943 the company has 179.
  • 1950s: Rapid growth turns Nordborg into a Danfoss town with housing and schools for its workforce.
  • 1968: Danfoss launches its VLT frequency converter, one of the first mass-produced AC drives.
  • 2014: Acquisition of the Finnish drives maker Vacon, now the VACON brand.
  • 2021: Acquisition of Eaton's hydraulics business.

Choosing Danfoss products

For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.

Where Danfoss products are used

In Oman and the GCC, Danfoss drives run pumps, fans and compressors in district cooling plants, water and wastewater stations, desalination and building HVAC. Danfoss pressure switches, transmitters and solenoid valves are built into chillers, refrigeration plants, boilers and hydraulic systems, and AB-QM valves balance chilled-water circuits in large buildings.

Ordering Danfoss products: what we need

Send the Danfoss code number from the label (for example 032U7115 or 131B0149) or the full drive type code (FC-302P3K0T5...). For drives, add the motor power, supply voltage and any fieldbus option. For valves, add the size, connection, medium and coil voltage. For pressure switches and transmitters, add the range, output and pressure connection.

Facts checked against Danfoss's company history pages and published company data, October 2026.
