Bently Nevada 330780-91-00 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor, 9 m DIN
Description
330780-91-00: 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor Sensor, 9.0 m system, DIN mount
The Bently Nevada 330780-91-00 is the 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor Sensor in the 9.0 m (29.5 ft) system length, prepared for DIN-rail mounting, without an agency approval option. It is the conditioning unit for the large-tip 11 mm eddy-current probe and its extension cable, and it supplies the long linear range needed on thrust position, rod position and similar measurements.
Reading the number as 330780-AA-BB, the code 91 means 9.0 m system length with DIN mount and the final 00 means that no agency approvals are required.

How the 330780-91-00 handles a long linear range
The 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor Sensor excites the large 11 mm probe coil with a radio-frequency signal and converts the damping caused by the target into a negative dc voltage. Because the tip is bigger, the output is 3.94 V/mm (100 mV/mil) instead of 7.87 V/mm, and the linear range stretches to 4.0 mm (160 mils) compared with 2 mm on the 8 mm system. The datasheet describes the dc part as position and the ac part as vibration up to 8 kHz.
330780-91-00: why a 9.0 m DIN system is chosen
Choose this part when the sensor must sit well away from the machine, in a DIN-rail cabinet or junction box, while an 11 mm probe still reaches a thrust collar or compressor rod. The 9.0 m total includes the extension cable, so a 1.0 m probe takes the 8.0 m extension (330730 code 080), or a 9.0 m probe is used alone. Five-metre probes are meant only for 5 m sensors.
The DIN version shares the thin body that lets many sensors share one rail, and the SpringLoc terminals accept field wire without special tools. On the 9 m system the ASF and DSL tolerances quoted in the datasheet apply to the whole chain, so do not substitute probes or cables from other families.

Selection and ordering checklist for 330780-91-00
- Confirm the probe is a 3300 XL 11 mm type with 1.0 m or 9.0 m length (not 5.0 m)
- Confirm the extension cable is 330730 with 8.0 m if the probe is 1.0 m
- Confirm DIN-rail mounting; panel mounting uses 330780-90-00
- Confirm no hazardous-area approval is needed (option 05 is separate)
- Check the monitor channel is set for 100 mV/mil (3.94 V/mm)
- Confirm the target diameter is at least 30.5 mm and the shaft is large enough
Installation, commissioning and maintenance of the 330780-91-00
Clip the sensor to the rail, wire the supply, common and signal in the SpringLoc strip and join the ClickLoc connectors hand-tight. Connector protectors are recommended on every install, and silicone tape is included with each extension cable as an alternative where oil exposure is not expected.
For thrust position, set the gap near the recommended 2.5 mm (100 mils) at mid-travel, then move the shaft and confirm the output follows 3.94 V/mm. When using a 3500 monitor, the datasheet notes an updated configuration software version lists the 3300 XL 11 mm system as a compatible option.
- Keep probe-to-probe separation of at least 64 mm for axial and 58 mm for radial positions on a 76.2 mm shaft to hold cross-talk below 50 mV
- Replacement DIN-mount mounting pad is 138493-01
- Use the test pin adapters 01609137 and 01609138 with the 40971-04 cable for checks at the terminal strip
- Record gap voltage at commissioning for trending
- Do not mix sensors from other probe families on an 11 mm probe
Typical applications in Oman and the GCC
The 330780-91-00 fits large compressors, steam turbines and reciprocating machines in Oman and the GCC where thrust position, ramp differential expansion or rod drop is needed. In gas gathering plants, power stations and desalination blocks the long run to a cabinet in a cooled room is common, which makes a 9 m DIN-rail unit attractive. Only the probe and extension cable have to survive the machine environment, while the sensor itself stays in the cabinet.

A proximity probe measures the gap to the shaft, so it sees shaft movement inside a fluid-film bearing directly. A velocity or acceleration sensor sits on the casing and suits rolling-element bearing machines. Critical turbomachinery usually carries two X-Y probes per bearing, two axial probes for thrust position and a Keyphasor probe for speed and phase.
Where Bently Nevada systems are used
In Oman and the GCC, Bently Nevada racks and probes protect gas turbines, compressors and steam turbines in gas processing, LNG, refining, petrochemical, power and desalination plants. Many installations are 3500 racks that have run for years, so most requests are for like-for-like module, probe, extension cable and proximitor replacements, plus upgrades to newer monitors.
Ordering and replacement: what we need
For probes and proximitors, send the full part number with all option digits (for example 330101-00-27-10-02-05). The digits set the probe length, cable length, connector and approvals, and the probe, cable and proximitor must match in total system length. For 3500 modules, send the module and I/O part numbers from the rack and say whether the I/O is internal or external termination, or barrier type. If a module is obsolete, we quote the replacement that Bently Nevada names and point out any configuration or firmware change.

FAQ
Questions about the Bently Nevada 330780-91-00 3300 XL 11 mm
Answers from our engineering team on installation, compatibility and integration.
01What does 330780-91-00 mean?
It follows the 330780-AA-BB pattern. Code 91 means 9.0 m system length with DIN-rail mounting, and 00 means no agency approval option.
02What is the output of the 330780-91-00?
The output is 3.94 V/mm (100 mV/mil) ±10% over a 4.0 mm (160 mil) linear range, with a recommended gap of 2.5 mm (100 mils).
03Which probe and cable length work with a 9 m sensor?
Probe plus 330730 extension cable must total 9.0 m, for example a 1.0 m probe with an 8.0 m extension, or a 9.0 m probe. Five-metre probes are only for the 5 m sensor.
04What are the power requirements?
It needs -17.5 to -26 Vdc at 12 mA maximum without barriers. With barriers use -23 to -26 Vdc, since the extended range does not apply with zener barriers.
05What applications is the 11 mm system used for?
The datasheet lists axial thrust position, ramp differential expansion on steam turbines, rod position on reciprocating compressors, tachometer and zero speed and Keyphasor signals.
