Brand: Harrington
Harrington TCL Lubricant Free Air Chain Hoist, 3 and 6 Ton
Description
An air chain hoist that does not need an oil lubricator
The Harrington TCL is a lubricant-free air powered chain hoist in 3 ton (TCL3000) and 6 ton (TCL6000P2 / C2) sizes. The manual explains that its vane motor does not require lubrication of the supply air, which keeps oil mist out of the work area and out of the product: useful in food, pharmaceutical, paint, electronics and clean assembly areas, or anywhere an oil-laden exhaust would be a nuisance. If a lubricator is fitted anyway, the manual says there is no disadvantage.
As an air hoist it has no electrical motor and is suited to wet, hot and dusty positions, but unlike the TCE it carries no explosion-protection marking in this manual. Do not assume it is suitable for explosive atmospheres.

Headroom C is 21.1 in for the 3 ton and 30.3 in for the 6 ton.
Selecting TCL3000 or TCL6000
Pick by load and speed: the 3 ton single fall hoist raises its rated load at 10 ft/min and lowers at 22 ft/min, while the 6 ton double fall unit is half as fast at 4.9 and 11 ft/min. Pendant control uses a push button hose; cord control is a pull-cord arrangement and is 2 lb lighter. The 6 ton hoist is taller by 9.2 in headroom.
Air supply and installation
Flow matters as much as pressure: the 3 ton and 6 ton hoists use the same motor and consume about 106 to 141 cfm at full load. The manual requires a filter, a regulator and (optionally) a lubricator in that order, a flexible hose of at least 0.75 in inside diameter, a supply pipe of at least 1.0 in, and no quick couplers, which restrict flow. If hoist speed is slow, check inlet pressure at the hoist while running, then adjust the load limiter. The load limiter screw adjustment is described in section 7, and the brake is inspected under section 7.2.
Lubricate the load chain every three months; heavier or severe use needs more frequent lubrication. Frequent inspection is monthly for normal service.
Applications
Typical GCC uses are workshop and plant maintenance where no electrical power is available, wash-down and dusty areas, and clean-process facilities that want oil-free exhaust: water treatment, food and beverage, packaging, and general fabrication. The manual’s upper operating limit is +70 C, but dry, clean, filtered air is still required.
Exhaust, outdoor use and corrosion care
The TCL manual covers a point that matters in coastal Gulf sites. Where the exhaust must not discharge into the work area the hoist exhaust can be extended to another location, using the installation method in the manual’s Figure 3-4. For outdoor installations the manual says the hoist must be covered and protected from the weather at all times, treated against oxidation and lubricated, and that corrosion risk rises with salt air and high humidity.
To prevent internal corrosion the manual asks that an idle hoist is operated on proper quality air at least once a week, raising and lowering one full cycle; in salt-air areas the valve section may need to be operated more often. Brake disc wear limits are also tabulated, and the brake is covered in the manual’s section 7.2.
Selection and installation notes
A hoist is selected from the rated capacity, the lift height, the duty cycle and the supply or air available, and it must be used only within its rated load under the site lifting procedure by trained people. Check the support structure and the trolley or hook, inspect the hoist, chain and hooks before use, test the brake and the limits at commissioning, never lift people or pull the load at an angle and have periodic examinations carried out by a competent person as the local rules require. Damaged equipment is taken out of service.
An air hoist needs clean, dry compressed air at the pressure and flow on the data sheet, with a filter and regulator.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
