Grandstream DP752 Long-Range DECT VoIP Base Station

Description

The Grandstream DP752 is a long-range DECT VoIP base station that pairs with up to 5 Grandstream DP-series DECT handsets, supports 10 SIP accounts and 5 concurrent calls, and runs from PoE (IEEE 802.3af Class 1) through its single 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. Outdoor range is up to 400 m with DP730, DP725 and DP735 handsets (350 m with DP722 and DP720) and indoor range is up to 50 m.

It gives walk-around cordless telephony to sites where Wi-Fi handsets would be unreliable.

Cordless coverage for large sites

DECT is a separate radio system from Wi-Fi, so cordless voice does not compete with data traffic. The DP752 base is used by warehouses, workshops, yards, clinics and hotels where staff move around. Multiple SIP accounts (up to ten distinct accounts per system) can be mapped flexibly, because each handset may map to any account and each account to any handset. A shared SIP account across handsets gives unified features, and ring-group modes (circular, linear, parallel and DID call group) decide how calls are distributed between handsets.

Features from the datasheet

  • DECT base station for up to 5 handsets; up to 10 SIP accounts per system; 5 concurrent calls
  • PoE 802.3af Class 1 (0.44 to 3.84 W) or 5 VDC 1 A micro-USB power
  • 3-way voice conferencing, HD audio, full-duplex speakerphone, ECO mode energy saving
  • TLS, SRTP, HTTPS, 802.1x, DECT authentication and encryption
  • Push-to-Talk and proximity/accelerometer-based activity on supported handsets
  • Indoor range up to 50 m; outdoor up to 400 m (DP730/DP725/DP735) or 350 m (DP722/DP720)

Choosing the right frequency and handsets

The datasheet lists channel plans by region: 10 channels in Europe, 5 in the US, Brazil and Japan, 3 in Korea and 8 in Taiwan. The 1880-1900 MHz band is listed for Europe; a DECT product must be the regional variant approved for the country of use, so confirm before ordering. Pair the DP752 with DP-series handsets: the range figures differ by handset model. Up to five handsets per base can be registered; for more, add additional bases and use a PBX that supports roaming.

Installation guidance

Mount the base high and central in the covered area, away from metal racks and large machinery. Power it from a PoE switch, or use the micro-USB adapter where no PoE exists. Pair each handset with the pairing button, register SIP accounts through the web UI, and choose a ring-group mode. Test coverage on foot with a handset, since the 50 m indoor and 400 m outdoor ranges are best-case figures.

Applications in the GCC

Typical uses are warehouse and workshop supervisors, hotel back-of-house, clinics and polyclinics, school campuses and plant yards where cordless voice is more practical than a desk phone. The -10 to 50 C operating range suits indoor, air-conditioned or ventilated spaces; it is not a weatherproof outdoor unit.

Selection and installation notes

A phone or voice device is selected from the number of lines and accounts, the display and keys needed, the network (PoE or power adapter, Gigabit or Wi-Fi) and the platform it connects to. Check that the PBX or the cloud service supports SIP and the codecs required, plan the VLAN and the PoE budget on the switch, and use provisioning to configure many devices consistently. Keep the firmware current and record the account settings for each unit.

A DECT system needs a coverage check on the site, and the base station should be placed centrally and away from large metal objects.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
