Grandstream GWN7624 In-Wall Wi-Fi 5 Access Point, PoE Out
Description
The Grandstream GWN7624 is an in-wall Wi-Fi 5 access point that doubles as a small wired switch: one Gigabit uplink with PoE/PoE+ in, two Gigabit ports with PSE (PoE out, 6 W maximum per port) and one more Gigabit port. Radios are 2.4 GHz 2×2:2 and 5 GHz 4×4:4 MU-MIMO, 2.03 Gbps aggregate throughput, with up to 200 clients and up to 100 m coverage.
The 135 x 86 x 38.5 mm body mounts flush in a wall box, so it suits rooms where a ceiling AP is impractical.
Wi-Fi and wired ports in one wall plate
Hotels, serviced apartments, labour accommodation, student housing and hospital wards need Wi-Fi in each room plus a wired socket for an IP phone, TV or PC. The GWN7624 supplies both from a single cable: the PoE uplink powers the unit, one downlink port is a plain Gigabit port, and two ports provide PoE out for an IP phone or IPTV set-top box. Because it is in-wall, it is tidier and less exposed to tampering than a ceiling-mounted unit. It uses the same embedded controller, GDMS Networking cloud and GWN Manager as other GWN products.
Features from the datasheet
- IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac; 2.4 GHz 2×2:2 MIMO and 5 GHz 4×4:4 MU-MIMO
- 2.03 Gbps wireless throughput; 4 Gigabit wired ports (1 uplink with PoE/PoE+, 2 with PSE, 1 plain)
- Up to 200 concurrent clients; 16 SSIDs total, 8 per radio
- WPA3, WPA/WPA2 Enterprise, WEP, WPA/WPA2-PSK
- Anti-hacking secure boot with digital signatures, unique certificate and random default password
- Embedded controller manages up to 30 local GWN APs; GDMS Networking unlimited; GWN Manager up to 3,000

Planning a room-by-room deployment
Count the PoE budget carefully. The unit itself can draw up to 25 W with PSE loads, while the uplink may be 802.3af or 802.3at; with two PSE ports at 6 W each, the PoE+ switch port is the safer choice, which is derived from the datasheet figures and should be confirmed in the user manual. Run one Cat5e or Cat6 cable per wall box, mount the AP in a standard box using the supplied screws, and keep the AP away from metal conduit that blocks the antennas. The 100 m coverage figure applies to open conditions; in rooms, one AP per room or per two rooms is typical.
Why the 5 GHz 4×4:4 radio matters
The 5 GHz radio carries up to 1733 Mbps in 802.11ac, which is where most room traffic should be steered, while the 2×2:2 2.4 GHz radio (up to 300 Mbps) serves older devices and smart-home equipment. The listed 2.03 Gbps is the sum of the two radios, a derived figure that real traffic will not reach.
Uses in GCC accommodation and commercial buildings
The product matches hotel guest rooms, staff and labour accommodation blocks, student halls, hospital rooms and apartment buildings in Oman and the GCC. The humidity range of 5 to 95 percent non-condensing and -10 to 50 C operating range are broader than most indoor APs on the same datasheet set.
Selection and installation notes
Plan a wireless network from a site survey, not from the data sheet range alone. Walls, floors and metal structures reduce coverage, so place access points at the centre of the area they serve, away from obstacles, and set the channels and power so that neighbouring units do not interfere. Confirm the PoE standard and the switch budget, the number of clients and the management platform, and change the default passwords at commissioning.
An in-wall unit is fitted into a wall box, so check the box type and the cable route during the electrical first fix.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
