SEKO Kontrol 65 Water Treatment Controller 96×96 and 144×144

Description

The SEKO Kontrol 65 is a single-input advanced controller for water treatment, with a 128×128 pixel graphic display, one independent proportional 4-20 mA output, two relays, an SSR frequency output and galvanic isolation that helps reject electrical noise in heavy industrial plants. The probe type is chosen in the key code: pH/ORP, amperometric chlorine, flow, conductivity or a modular parameter such as peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide, bromine, ozone, turbidity or oxygen.

It is sold as a 96×96 mm panel unit or a 144×144 mm wall box, both IP65.

One instrument, many measured parameters

Instead of a different instrument for every chemical, the Kontrol 65 changes personality with its probe code. PR reads pH or ORP, AP reads amperometric chlorine, FX reads a flow probe, CD reads conductivity, and MP is a modular parameter instrument for chlorine, PAA, bromine, hydrogen peroxide, ozone, turbidity, oxygen and custom units. That makes it a convenient standard controller for water utilities, cooling towers, food plants and pools where each measuring point needs one parameter and one dosing output.

Key code and selection

The example key code is K 065 PR P H 0 000. K means Kontrol, 065 the series, PR pH/ORP probe (AP amperometric chlorine, FX flow, CD conductivity, MP modular parameter), P panel box 96×96 (W wall box 144×144), H supply 230 Vac, 115 Vac or 24 Vac, then two optional fields. Select by measured parameter first, then the box. A modular MP unit is the choice for PAA, hydrogen peroxide, bromine, ozone or turbidity, since those are not standard probe codes.

Note that the datasheet lists a single analog output and two relays, so for two simultaneous measurements or four relays use the Kontrol 102 instead.

Commissioning and maintenance

Mount the panel version in a cut-out with the Snail Lock fixing; the wall box needs a flat surface and shade. Keep probe cable runs away from motor cables, use the HOLD input to freeze outputs during probe cleaning, and set alarm delay times between 1 and 3600 seconds to avoid nuisance alarms. Calibrate pH with two buffers and check conductivity cells against a standard. Clean amperometric membranes as the probe manual advises.

Applications in GCC industries

Typical measuring points are free chlorine at potable-water reservoirs and desalination outlets, ORP and pH at pools and spas, conductivity on cooling tower bleed lines, flow-proportional dosing on booster stations and PAA or peroxide control in food and beverage washing. The IP65 enclosure is for wet and dusty plant rooms; confirm ambient limits against the full manual.

Selection and installation notes

A water treatment controller depends on the sensor connected to it. Confirm the probe type in the key code, the supply voltage, the output and relay needs, the panel cut-out and the cable length before ordering. Mount the probe in a flow cell or pipe position where the sample is representative, keep the cable away from power wiring, calibrate the sensor at commissioning and again at regular intervals, and keep the settings recorded.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
