SEKO BL095020 Double Impeller Side Channel Blower 15-25 kW

The SEKO BL 095 020 is a double-impeller, single-stage side channel blower with a 5 inch connection, built for continuous duty as either an exhaust (vacuum) or compression blower. It is a large-frame unit: 15, 20 or 25 kW at 50 Hz, airflow of 2050 m3/h (2480 m3/h at 60 Hz), vacuum up to -310 mbar and pressure up to 280 mbar.

It is the blower SEKO’s ring-blower range offers for larger aeration and process-air jobs, and it ships as three order codes: BL09502015000, BL09502020000 and BL09502025000.

A high-flow ring blower for aeration and vacuum duty

Side channel blowers work on the lateral duct principle: the impeller sits directly on the motor shaft and moves gas around a ring channel, building pressure or vacuum without oil in the air stream. All rotating parts are dynamically balanced and the housing is full die-cast aluminium. The BL 095 020 is used on wastewater aeration, where it feeds diffusers in aeration tanks and sludge holding tanks, on pneumatic conveying and vacuum lifting, and on large drying and degassing systems that need a steady, oil-free air supply.

Technical specification

At 60 Hz the datasheet lists 17.5, 23 and 29 kW with 380-480 V delta and 660-720 V star, 2480 m3/h, vacuum of -120, -190 and -270 mbar, pressure of 110, 180 and 230 mbar, and noise of 84 dB(A).

Selecting between the three codes

Airflow is the same for all three codes, so the choice is pressure. The 15 kW unit reaches -160 mbar vacuum or 170 mbar pressure, the 20 kW unit -250 or 230 mbar, and the 25 kW unit -310 or 280 mbar. For aeration the pressure needed is set by the water depth over the diffusers plus pipe and filter losses, so size from the highest operating point rather than the average. Order by the full code including frequency, since the same frame has separate 50 and 60 Hz entries.

Installation notes

Mount on the supplied feet with anti-vibration pins (BLAV12), connect with a flexible sleeve and hose clips (BLSH125) and fit a pressure or vacuum gauge (BLMN06306 or BLVG06306). A safety valve (BLSV100AL02 or BLSV100AL24 with kit BLKS125100C) protects against overpressure, and an inlet cartridge filter (BLCF125PA007) protects the channel from dust, which matters in dusty Gulf locations. Blowers heat the air they compress, so the discharge pipe can be hot; provide guarding and ventilation.

Applications in GCC projects

Typical uses are municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, fish and aquaculture aeration, pneumatic conveying of powders, and vacuum holding on packaging and material-handling lines. In dusty or humid sites select the inlet filter grade by particle size.

Selection and installation notes

A side channel blower is selected from the airflow, the vacuum or pressure, the duty cycle and the ambient temperature. Provide a clean intake with a filter, protect the motor against overload, keep the discharge line free of restrictions, fit a safety valve when the system could be blocked and leave clearance around the unit for cooling and for the noise level at the site.
