Application notes
Universal channels remove the guesswork about how many inputs and outputs a station needs: each port is configured by software, so one module can be a sensor interface on one machine and a valve driver on the next. The datasheet gives output current of 2.0 A per channel with a per-port limit, an output delay of 1.3 ms and input diagnostics per port. Compared with the 16-output TBEN-L5-16DOP module, it adds input capability at the same housing size.
For commissioning, load the device description for your controller, check the supply voltage at the far end of long cable runs, set the I/O diagnostics you want mapped, and test every channel with a real sensor or load. Keep the Quick Start Guide at hand for firmware, web server and Ex-area notes.
Selection check before ordering
Derived from the datasheet titles: TBEN is the Turck block Ethernet family, S1 and S2 are the compact 32 mm wide housings with M8 connections, L4 and L5 are the larger housings with M12 connections (L4 with a 4-pin and L5 with a 5-pin 7/8-inch supply connector in the feature list), DIP means digital PNP inputs, DOP digital PNP outputs and IOL IO-Link master channels. Ident number 6814088 identifies this exact module.
Please check the supply connector, the fieldbus protocol and firmware needed by your PLC, any hazardous-area conditions in the Quick Start Guide, the connector style (M8 or M12) of your sensors and valves, and the number and type of channels before you place an order. The figures above follow the manufacturer datasheet, and any later datasheet revision from the maker takes precedence.

About brand
Turck is the German automation company for sensors, connectivity, fieldbus I/O and interface technology. It grew from Hans Turck's engineering office in Mülheim an der Ruhr: in 1965 a chemical plant ordered an isolation amplifier for intrinsically safe circuits, and the first 20 units were built by his brother Werner Turck in Halver. The family-owned Turck group is still headquartered in Mülheim an der Ruhr, with production in Halver and other sites.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Turck sensors and I/O devices for machine builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Milestones
- 1965: An order from a German chemical plant for an amplifier module starts the business; Werner Turck builds the first 20 units.
- 1970: Hans Turck KG and Werner Turck KG are registered as separate companies.
- 1975: Hans Turck KG opens its building in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
- 1994: Turck Holding combines the two Turck companies under one roof.
Turck product series
Most of the Turck products here are inductive proximity sensors: threaded M12, M18 and M30 barrels in flush (BI) and non-flush (NI) versions, uprated-range (U) sensors, rectangular CP40 and CP80 housings and BIM magnetic-field sensors for detecting pistons in pneumatic cylinders. The type code describes the sensor; in BI5-M18-AP6X-H1141, BI means flush mounting, 5 is the switching distance in mm, AP6X a three-wire PNP output and H1141 the M12 connector.
Turck also makes RU ultrasonic sensors, PS pressure, TS temperature and LS level sensors, FCI inline flow sensors, the CMVT vibration and temperature sensor for condition monitoring over IO-Link, and fieldbus and Ethernet I/O modules and communication components.
Where Turck sensors are used
Position detection on conveyors, packaging machines, presses and robotic cells; level, pressure and temperature monitoring on hydraulic units and process skids; and vibration monitoring on motors, pumps and fans.
