Danfoss 060G1607 MBS 3250 Pressure Transmitter 0-400 bar
Description
MBS 3250: a 400 bar hydraulic transmitter with integral snubber and 1-5 V output
Danfoss 060G1607 is an MBS 3250 for the high-pressure end of the transmitter range: 0 to 400 bar, 1 to 5 V output, and a short flying-lead cable instead of a plug. The MBS 3200 / 3250 sheet describes the programme as a compact, high-temperature transmitter for hydraulic and nearly all industrial applications, handling media and ambient temperatures up to 125 C.
The 3250 version differs from the 3200 because it integrates a pulse-snubber that protects the sensing element against cavitation, liquid hammer and pressure peaks, which are typical in presses, injection moulding machines and test benches.

Why the overload figures matter at 400 bar
At this range a transient can easily approach the span, so the store lists an overload of 600 bar and an autofrettage pressure of 1600 bar. Treat the 600 bar as the limit for repeated peaks and the 1600 bar as a one-off protective value. The snubber slows the response to very short peaks, so confirm that your control loop can accept that before using it for fast servo-hydraulic feedback.
The enclosure and the wetted parts are AISI 316L stainless steel according to the data sheet, which also states that all common output signals are offered. This code has the 1 to 5 V version, so a PLC analogue input must be set to voltage, not current.
Mounting and ordering notes
The G 1/4 DIN 3852-E connection is sealed with the integrated gasket, not with tape. Tighten with a 27 mm spanner on the hexagon and never by turning the housing. The three flying leads are colour coded; the store page shows blue as the positive output.
ATEX Ex ec IIA T4 Gc is listed with CE and UL recognition, and the sensor is not intrinsically safe. Confirm output signal, range and connection before ordering. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat; send 060G1607 with your quantity.
Pressure-test benches and hydraulic power units often run many transmitters of the same type, so record the code, the range and the cable colours on the panel drawing. The three-wire flying-lead cable is usually terminated in a junction box close to the sensor; seal the cable gland and avoid pulling on the leads, because the short 0.32 m cable offers little slack.
Keep the data sheet, a photograph of the nameplate and the order code 060G1607 together in the plant record. The same family contains many similar codes that differ only in range, connection or options, and a clear record saves time when a spare is needed during a shutdown.
Typical applications for a 400 bar transmitter
A 0 to 400 bar range places the 060G1607 in the high-pressure hydraulic segment: presses, injection moulding machines, hydraulic power units and pressure test benches are the typical installations named on this page. In these systems the transmitter provides the pressure value for control, monitoring and alarm functions, for example to confirm that a press has reached its required force, to detect pressure loss in a circuit, or to record test pressures on a bench. Choosing a range that sits comfortably above the normal operating pressure while still giving good resolution is the key decision; a range far above the working pressure reduces the useful signal span.
Working with the 1 to 5 V output
The voltage output connects directly to analogue inputs configured for voltage. Because the signal starts above zero, the control system can distinguish between zero pressure and a broken wire or missing supply, which helps with diagnostics. Keep the cable run from the junction box to the input card reasonably short and away from power cables, since voltage signals are more sensitive to interference and voltage drop than current signals over long distances. Scale the input in the PLC so that the lower signal value corresponds to zero pressure and the upper value to full range.
Installation considerations in hydraulic systems
Select a mounting point where the pressure represents the quantity you want to measure, and avoid locations directly at pump outlets or valves where turbulence is strongest unless that is the point of interest. Make sure the system is depressurised before installing or removing the transmitter. In hot hydraulic systems, verify that both the medium and the ambient temperature at the mounting point stay within the stated limits, and route the flying leads away from hot surfaces.
Commissioning and verification
After installation, check the zero reading with the system depressurised and then compare the reading at operating pressure with a reference gauge. Record the readings in the commissioning documents so that any later drift can be identified during maintenance.
Selecting between similar codes
The MBS 3200 and MBS 3250 programme contains many code numbers that look alike but differ in pressure range, output signal, pressure connection and electrical connection. Before ordering, confirm each of these points against your drawing: the range of this code, the 1 to 5 V output, the G 1/4 connection and the flying-lead cable. If any one of them differs from your requirement, a different code number is needed, and a quick check against the data sheet avoids receiving a transmitter that cannot be fitted or wired as planned. For hazardous areas, also confirm that the listed Ex marking suits your zone classification.
How to specify the transmitter in an RFQ
Quote the Danfoss code number 060G1607 and quantity. When replacing an installed unit, a nameplate photo confirms the range, output and connection.

About brand
Danfoss is the Danish engineering group that makes refrigeration and air-conditioning controls, heating components, variable speed drives and mobile hydraulics. Mads Clausen founded it on 1 September 1933 at his parents' farm in Nordborg on the island of Als, after making his first refrigeration expansion valve in 1932. Nordborg is still the group's headquarters, and Danfoss remains controlled by the Clausen family through the Bitten & Mads Clausen Foundation.

Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
Where Danfoss products are used
In Oman and the GCC, Danfoss drives run pumps, fans and compressors in district cooling plants, water and wastewater stations, desalination and building HVAC. Danfoss pressure switches, transmitters and solenoid valves are built into chillers, refrigeration plants, boilers and hydraulic systems, and AB-QM valves balance chilled-water circuits in large buildings.
