Typical use and installation notes
The M30 size roughly doubles the reading range of the M18 head, which gives more mounting tolerance on conveyors, pallet transfer lines and workpiece carriers. As with the M18 version, tag data are carried as 32-bit process values over IO-Link, so the head works with any master that supports Class A ports. Pick it when the carrier passes at distance or alignment is not exact, and verify tag type and speed with Turck. Mounting is listed as non-flush, so the active face needs a metal-free zone around it, and the housing is 63.5 mm long with IP67 protection and an ambient range of -25 to +70 C. For tag types, speeds and alignment tolerances that are not stated on the datasheet, ask Turck or confirm with a trial installation.
For commissioning, test with the actual tag type, record the read and write distances in both directions, and verify the data in the controller. Mounting on metal, tag orientation and transport speed change the practical distance considerably compared with the maximum in the datasheet.
Reading the type code before you order
TN is the Turck HF RFID read/write head family; the housing token (Q80, M18, M30) matches the design row (Threaded barrel, M30 x 1.5), IOL marks IO-Link versions and EX marks the version with hazardous-area marking. Ident number 100000975 identifies this exact head.
Points to confirm with us before ordering: the tag type and read/write distance for your application, the supply voltage, any hazardous-area approval conditions, the interface (IO-Link or 4-wire), and mounting space and metal environment. Everything in the table comes from the datasheet as published, so the maker document is the final reference.

About brand
Turck is the German automation company for sensors, connectivity, fieldbus I/O and interface technology. It grew from Hans Turck's engineering office in Mülheim an der Ruhr: in 1965 a chemical plant ordered an isolation amplifier for intrinsically safe circuits, and the first 20 units were built by his brother Werner Turck in Halver. The family-owned Turck group is still headquartered in Mülheim an der Ruhr, with production in Halver and other sites.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Turck sensors and I/O devices for machine builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Milestones
- 1965: An order from a German chemical plant for an amplifier module starts the business; Werner Turck builds the first 20 units.
- 1970: Hans Turck KG and Werner Turck KG are registered as separate companies.
- 1975: Hans Turck KG opens its building in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
- 1994: Turck Holding combines the two Turck companies under one roof.
Turck product series
Most of the Turck products here are inductive proximity sensors: threaded M12, M18 and M30 barrels in flush (BI) and non-flush (NI) versions, uprated-range (U) sensors, rectangular CP40 and CP80 housings and BIM magnetic-field sensors for detecting pistons in pneumatic cylinders. The type code describes the sensor; in BI5-M18-AP6X-H1141, BI means flush mounting, 5 is the switching distance in mm, AP6X a three-wire PNP output and H1141 the M12 connector.
Turck also makes RU ultrasonic sensors, PS pressure, TS temperature and LS level sensors, FCI inline flow sensors, the CMVT vibration and temperature sensor for condition monitoring over IO-Link, and fieldbus and Ethernet I/O modules and communication components.
Where Turck sensors are used
Position detection on conveyors, packaging machines, presses and robotic cells; level, pressure and temperature monitoring on hydraulic units and process skids; and vibration monitoring on motors, pumps and fans.
