Description
A modular gear reducer range with a washdown-proof sealing system
The Dodge Quantis family covers industrial gear reducers and gearmotors in three arrangements: in-line helical (ILH), motorized shaft mount (MSM) and right-angle helical bevel (RHB). All three are available with integrated or flange-mounted motors, and Dodge states they are dimensionally interchangeable with major global competitors, naming NORD and SEW-EURODRIVE in its stock reducer sheet. Those brand names belong to their owners and appear here only to quote Dodge. Gearing is wear-free helical, finish ground with an ellipsoid tooth form, at 98.5 percent efficiency per stage, in a class 30 gray iron housing.
The range reaches overall ratios up to 7,500:1 and includes 10:1 constant-torque inverter-ready gearmotors and brake motors with IE3 and NEMA premium efficient motors. Clamp-style or three-piece coupled inputs make motor changes easy, and optional twin-tapered bushings give easy-on, easy-off shaft mounting.

These are foot-mounted ILH reducers with clamp-collar NEMA C-face input and a solid output shaft, taken from the Quantis stock reducer sheet. The sheet continues with ratios to 300:1 and right-angle RHB reducers in foot-mounted solid-shaft and flange-mounted hollow-bore form. Stock units are oil-filled for the A1 position; other positions need extra lubrication and breather changes per the instruction manual.
E-Z Kleen and FoodSafe versions
For food, packaging and pharmaceutical plants Dodge offers the E-Z Kleen corrosion-resistant design in every size and style, and the FoodSafe version, a total stainless steel solution built around food-industry sanitation standards. Both are IP69 water tested: sprayed from several angles at 1,450 psi (100 bar), 176 degF (80 degC) and 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 cm) distance with no liquid entering. The XT two-piece output seal adds an axial sealing lip, a rubber-ID sleeve for corrosion protection, an axial bumper and a stainless outer seal case, packed with grease for extended life.

A stock part number such as H3C14S00477 reads configuration (H ILH foot-mounted, B RHB foot-mounted, BF RHB flange-mounted), size (3 means 38), input (C clamp-collar NEMA), C-face frame (14 means 140TC), output (S solid shaft, H straight hollow bore) and ratio. RHB flange-mounted accessories include banjo torque-arm kits, tie rod kits, output flanges from 160 to 550 mm and polymer open or closed end covers. Confirm before ordering: mounting position, motor frame or voltage, ratio and output speed, overhung load and the washdown rating needed.

About brand
Dodge is an American brand of mounted bearings, gear reducers and couplings with roots in 1878, when Wallace Dodge began making wood products in Mishawaka, Indiana; the company became known for its wood split pulley and then power transmission products. Dodge passed to Reliance Electric in 1967, to Baldor in 2007 and to ABB in 2011, and became part of RBC Bearings in 2021. Its head office is in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
