Gent COMPACT-RPT Vigilon LCD Repeat Indicator Panel

Description

Remote Fire, Fault and Disablement display for Vigilon panels

The Gent COMPACT-RPT Vigilon LCD repeat indicator panel displays Fire, Fault and Disablement information on a 2 x 40 character LCD. It is an indication-only repeat panel for Vigilon systems, connected to the main panel through an RS485 communication port, and a maximum of four repeat panels can be connected to one Vigilon panel.

The communication link to the panel is monitored, so if power to a repeat indicator fails the fault is reported at the control panel. The datasheet wiring diagram shows the repeat panels connected to a battery-backed Compact Plus control panel.

Installing and powering the repeat

One LCD repeat indicator can be powered from the control panel; additional repeat indicators must be powered from an additional power supply. Run the RS485 link within the 1000 m maximum cable length. The Gent A3 mimic datasheet lists COMPACT-RPT as a non-functional LCD repeat display connected by RS485, so the unit gives indication only and does not control the system.

Typical uses are a reception desk, security room or second entrance where staff need to see the same Fire, Fault and Disablement messages shown at the main panel. Pair it with the Gent Vigilon Compact Plus panel or other Vigilon panels, and confirm the panel firmware supports repeat connection before ordering.

About brand

Vigilon is the analog addressable fire alarm system that has made Gent a familiar name on British-specified buildings. The company's roots go back to 1872 in Leicester, and its panels and loop devices are designed to EN 54. Seven Star LLC supplies Gent fire alarm panels and system parts to contractors and facility teams in Oman, including Vigilon control panels and loop cards for existing sites.

Gent Vigilon panels and parts listed here

Three of the items on this page are panel parts. The Vigilon Compact Plus is the smaller panel for one or two loops. The Vigilon Plus, listed as VIGPLUS-72, is the larger control panel for one to six loops with 72-hour standby capacity. The VIG-LPC-EN loop card adds or replaces a loop circuit in the VIGPLUS-24 and VIGPLUS-72 panels. On the loops, Gent uses its own device families, notably S-Quad devices that combine multi-sensor detection with sounder, voice and visual alarm options.

Ordering Gent fire alarm parts: what we need

Gent systems are configured per site, so details matter. Send the part number from the panel or card label, the panel type and number of loops, the panel firmware version if shown, and the device types on the loop. For a new panel, state loops required, network cards, printer or repeater options and battery size. We supply to projects in the GCC and check each part number against the manufacturer's documentation.
