TopWorx GO Switch 70 Series Leverless Limit Switches

Description

Leverless magnetic limit switches for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders

The TopWorx GO Switch 70 Series covers the 70 Series leverless limit switches, models 71 to 77 and 7L, with 7G, 7H and 7I variants. They operate on magnetic attraction: three permanent magnets and a push-pull plunger move a set of mechanical contacts when a ferrous metal or magnetic target enters the sensing range. The switches are unaffected by weld fields and RF interference, and the IOM includes a cylinder application detail showing how the switch is fitted.

Mounting and application notes

The IOM advises avoiding contact between target and switch, mounting so that the bracket crosses the switch body near its middle and fitting the two supplied jam nuts, with lock washers where vibration is present. Maximum torque is 60 lb-in (7 N-m) on 3/8 in threads and 35 lb-ft (47 N-m) on 5/8 in threads. Nearby ferrous metal reduces sensing distance, and differential depends on the direction the target approaches. For heavy or inductive loads TopWorx recommends arc suppression or an interposing relay to protect contact life. Sensing distance falls as pressure rises, so use the figure for the working pressure of the cylinder.

What to confirm before ordering

Confirm the model letter and number, thread, contact form, temperature rating, the electrical load type and the target material. This IOM is a two-page document, so detailed wiring, dimensions and ordering codes come from the TopWorx GO Switch catalogue or configurator.

About brand

TopWorx is the valve controls and limit switch brand of Emerson, based in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Its products mount on valve actuators to show whether a valve is open or closed, send switch or analog signals back to the control system and, in some models, operate the actuator pilot valve. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists products from the manufacturer's manuals and datasheets and quotes against the exact model code.

TopWorx product groups

The documents on this site cover GO Switch leverless limit switches, the D-Series, TX-Series, TV-Series and K-Series discrete valve controllers, the DVR valve position monitor and the PD Series smart valve positioner. Options in these documents include GO Switch, mechanical and inductive sensors, 4-20 mA and HART transmitters, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, AS-i, DeviceNet and PROFIBUS communication, integrated pilots and explosion-protected enclosures.

Ordering TopWorx products: what we need

Send the full model code from the nameplate or the datasheet nomenclature, the actuator make, mounting pattern and size, the supply voltage and signal type, the hazardous-area certification and the quantity. Many options cannot be combined, so we confirm the code against the manufacturer's documentation before quoting.
