The Kärcher IVS 100/55 M Z22 is a super-class industrial vacuum with a 5.5 kW side channel blower for safely collecting large quantities of potentially explosive dust of dust class M. Kärcher states that it is suitable for use in ATEX zone 22, the zone in which an explosive dust atmosphere is not expected in normal operation but may occur briefly.
Powder handling, grain, wood, chemicals, coating and fabrication plants all generate combustible dust that settles on structures and equipment. This machine is built for that housekeeping task: a 100 litre stainless steel container, an electrically conductive accessory range and a wear-free side channel blower with soft start, rated by Kärcher for a service life of at least 20,000 hours and suitable for multiple-shift operation or several suction points.

Certification statements and design
The sheet states that the complete device is certified according to DIN EN 60335-2-69 for dust class M and that the machine is certified for ATEX zone 22. The wear-free side channel blower has a soft start, so it can handle large quantities of dust and solids and run on multiple suction points. Emptying is by a set-down trolley, and a PE emptying bag of 540 mm diameter is listed as an accessory.
Because accessories are not delivered with the machine, hoses, tubes and nozzles are chosen separately. Kärcher lists electroconductive parts for DN 70, which matter in zone 22 for static discharge control.

About brand
Kärcher is a German, family-owned manufacturer of cleaning equipment, founded in 1935 by Alfred Kärcher in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt and based in Winnenden since 1939. Its first products were hot-air blowers for warming aircraft engines; in 1950 the company built what it describes as Europe's first hot-water high-pressure cleaner. After Alfred Kärcher's death in 1959, his wife Irene Kärcher steered the business fully towards cleaning.
